Why would he get blocked from a modding site!?

People that want to pirate will always find a why so there is no point trying to fight them with anger and hate. It will just lead to more pirates, instead try to fight them with kindness like CD Projekt RED does. I found out about The Witcher 2 though piracy and have since bought the game and will buy The Witcher 3 and any other future game they make as that is an amazing studio that deserves to have people buying their games. That is how one should deal with piracy in my opinion. Another way that works a well is to provide a better service like Steam or Netflix. Trying to have always on requirements like Sim City will just lead to people hating you.

About Internet Censorship well I think there shouldn't be any internet censorship. It's stupid to draw artificial boundaries where there are none. The internet is the only place were people from all over the world can be of the world and not of some stupid nation-state. If society is to prosper we need to get rid of nation-states even though that could lead to a global dictatorship which would be very bad. So that cannot be allowed to happen. I'm pretty sure a VPN's like hotspotshield (use offer code LINUS to save a few bucks) would get around internet censorship.

I'd sooner think it would be capitalistic as every consumer wants to get something for cheaper in a capitalistic society and what's cheaper than free?

It's like retaliation to the greedy capitalists who sell them.

Description

I decided to do this debate when my friend was blocked from accessing our little modding community.

Is the war on internet piracy merely another form of censorship, or is piracy a real threat?
