Square-Enix just signed a deal with Valve to release games over Steam starting with Last Remnant in April. Maybe there is hope for another Final Fantasy PC game?

there are a couple of mods for FF7 PC:
The high-resolution patch (enables 1280x960 + AA&AF) and the NPC patches are a must.
And to answer my previous post FF7 works fine with a Geforce 260 under Windows 7 64-bit (should work with vista as well, only XP has the problem with geforce 7+ series cards)

Does anyone know if the new Nvidia Cards (GTX 280 + GTX 260) will work with FF7 for PC under windows XP, i know that the 8800GTS cards could not run FF7 correctly in windows XP only Vista

I´d like to make a commit about the FF franchise. Basically, my love of FF was ignited for the first time when I played FF7. I remember becoming fully engulfed in the world and characters and loving every aspect of the game. Then i played 8 and in my opinion it was even better (to this days its still my favorite). I didn´t have the oportunity to play 9 so when 10 came around I made sure I played it and it didn´t dissapoint me. However, in my opinion, Square has yet to release a quality game since FF10. I wont even discuss 10x2 and then they released 11 online so I couldn´t play it. and finally after what seemed like an eternity they released 12 and I bought it right away. However, after playing 10 hours over the course of I week I became bored and never finished. That game made me worry, because it seems that Square is moving away from all the aspects of the franchise that I love so much. The characters where not distinct and intrigueing, the fighting mechanics where horrible (for a old school turn based fan like myself), and the story just didnt grasp me. Basically, I was wondering what you guys think about Square more recent output and if you think they´ll be able to return to the quality of the greats like 7 that we all remember.

Oh man im exactly like you only with me 8 and 9 are the other way round. 7 sparked my love for it, I bought 8 but my brother took it back cos there was no MP you could only use magic so many times and it wasnt fantasy enough it was more reality ( i bought it off e-bay last week though, havent started it yet :) ), i love 9, its my favourite. If you love FF, 9 would not dissapoint you at all and its a fine edition to the series :)

I researched the game, and no matter what i did i could not find something that would make me want to play the game.
But i never let info stop me, so i watched a great deal of the game played (my friend had it)
However i was once again not impressed. It looks amazing and plays just as good, but for some reason i just didnt care.
Im pretty sure i know why. i think it was some time after 9 that a great amount of the people that drove the FF games left square. i compleatly forget the details but i remember reading about it and thinking...oh crap.
now it seems that every FF has the same art style. when back in the old days you couldn't see any similarities between 7 8 or 9.
but hey 13 looks really pretty. maybe it will be kewel. and 13 versus, just looks bad ***. we shall see.
