Description

This is a compilation with rock/metal remixes of doom's original songs composed by many community artists (See the credits for info about the authors). This goes great with Brutal Doom and enhance it's violent atmosphere even more. This music pack aims to create a Metal experience. Every original midi song of the game has been replaced by remakes using real instruments. Some few songs from Doom 2 (like The Healer Stalks, the song that plays on Level 2 and Level 21) have been completely removed and replaced by some Doom 1 remixes that in my opinion, works better. Anyway, the only songs removed are Doom 2's level 2 and 4, because I think elevator music doesn't fits in Doom's atmosphere. This works both for Doom 1 and Doom 2.

Extract the file from the .zip file, and place it inside your Skins folder at your sourceport main folder. (If it doesn't has a folder called Skins, just create it) It can't get more detailed than that.

i have no 'sourceport'-like folder, but a folder named skins in my doom root also worked :)

At first I just dragged the Doom Metal into ZDoom with Brutal Doom, it worked, but I read this and now it's easier cause i don't have to drag as many files

You will listen to these remixes in the Final Doom games, but in the same sequence of Doom 2 soundtrack.

Will volume 4 include TNT metal mixes like "Sadistic", "Into Beast's Belly", "Let's Kill At Will" from JD Herrera?

No because the TNT music files uses the same name as Doom 2's ones. But I have plans to make a TNT Metal pack.

Check your steam/steamapps/common folder, thats where most of the non-valve steam games tend to go. If its not in there, check out the folder in steamapps with your account name on it instead.

There's a song in this pack that I love (Sign Of Evil) But after looking up all of the contributing artists and trawling the web in general, I can't find this version. It's on the Hell Beneath map. If anyone at all knows where to find the song can you please please let me know? I'd be very grateful.

Sgt Mark,

I have zero knowledge/experience on doom modding in general, but I just wanna know if its possible to replace the intermission song from your compilation with another remix of it that I have in mp3. If yes, you don't need to provide further detailed explanations on how to do it if you don't want it, just knowing that is possible is good enough for me so I can google/research by myself.

last but not least, outstading work on brutal doom and thanks for all your effort.

Sarge, are you happy for people to include the music within their own WADS, obviously while giving credit to yourself for the playlist...

The reason I ask... the music is that epic I would like it forced on people during my own WAD instead of MIDI ;)
