Confusing title, no? We've got a little bit to discuss with you all.

Hello everyone, C-zom here for my last news post regarding Sapience. (The project is not cancelled, don't flip out!) After nearly a year of solid level design and programming from Jason, Viktor, Roland, and others, I am sad to announce I have stepped down as the lead author and writer of the project, with Conceptual Lead Jason Daysh and Lead Editor Maarten Basjes taking over my writing position on this particular project. My resignation from the lead writing position is for a multitude of reasons, none more pressing than time constraints, schedule difficulties, and ongoing projects such as Triptych occupying most of my time.

I can guarantee to you that the loss of myself at the helm of penning Sapience will do little to effect the overall story as the meta-storyboard, conceived by Jason Daysh, only needs to be "translated" to a screenplay and script format. Much of the conceptual ideas, themes, and idioms you've grown to recognize in our media campaign are still present in the final draft. The plot synopsis, characters, locations, virus, and so on were of my design but will still be used by the transitioning writing staff. The team will be running forward with those tropes, for better or for worse, without me in the drivers seat. But what I can guarantee is that there will be no visible loss of quality. Jason is an excellent project lead, and Maarten Basjes has tremendous experience in the writing business and will take the story to untold leaps of greatness. This will be his debut lead writing experience in Dark Craft Studios, so we'll all give him a round of applause for penning his first screenplay for a DCS project.

More news regarding Sapience is due in as little as a month, with a gigantic media campaign being prepared in the coming weeks to show all the new levels Jason has created in a years time.

Something did happen. I had to step down from writing it. I'm sorry we can't always fulfill media release needs, but sometimes studios have more to talk about than trailers and screenshots. A little sympathy would have been nice, but oh well.

oh, i didnt mean it like that. sorry i failed tp convey my message coherently. I meant I've been wondering about the fate of this project, because a lot of projects do tend to stagnate and disappear due to other problems. Also, I thought while you might not be heading the writing I thought you might have been doing something else. And when I said "looking forward to it" that was in relation to the actual mod as a whole. I didn't mean to offend, and sorry if it came out like that.

It's been a productive year for Dark Craft.

Sapience was always going to be a long term project because of it's scale. The backdrop remains the same and the journey you as the player makes through this world was decided very early on.

How and who presents the story and script is now in full development by Maarten and although C-zom is not writing the script and players personal story, rest assured his comments and input will still be fundamental to it's success.

The team can't wait to get this out for you all to experience and it's all shaping up nicely.

Later,
