Post news Report RSS MechWarrior: Living Legends - Weekly Update XIV/XV

Welcome to a huge weekly update from the team of the Crysis total conversion modification MechWarrior: Living Legends. Combining Updates XIV and XV, we're presenting to you three and a half minutes of gameplay footage as well as a progress update on SA_Extremity and new particle effects for the Battlearmor's jumpjets.

Progress: SA_Extremity

As has been shown in our latest trailer, Extremity has received quite some care. One of the results is this lake near the middle of the map. One time, it'll be frozen over and passable while at other times, it'll be all water depending on the time of day.

New particle effects: Battlearmor jump jets

Just recently completed and already implemented: the new particle effects on battlearmor jumpjets were received quite positively during the last playtest.

Awesome progress.
Did I get it right, that if a mech is standing in the water when its being freezed (on Extremeity) it gets detroyed ? I guess jump jets could really save your mech-*** in that situaion :D

Nice, but torsos look a bit weird. I guess a little up and down movement while walking would be nice.

I looks great, I really love the environments, but the mechs need newer animations (put more realistic bounce into their steps and run. I draws away from the awesomeness of the stages

I agree, 'mech movement is odd-looking. Might I suggest you look at the MechWarrior 4 intro? The movement looks excellent in that! Wonderful work, nonetheless!

I have the highest respect for this Mech Warrior mod. It looks ten times more interesting and mature than the new commercial game - even though (or because?) it uses original models.

I dont notice anything bad about the movements, but then I have a better imagination than most :)

Its been a while since I've been impressed by a mod, and most of the time it was a Source Engine mod. This is without question the best Crysis mod to date, both in production standards and technical design. The environments shown here go far beyond what anyone has dreamed of with this engine.

Since we know the new mechwarrior game will be a crappy port to the PC, our hopes rest with you guys. And those hopes are looking pretty damn safe. Awesome.
