An Activision executive by the name of Eric Hirshberg issued a statement touting the super fast graphics engine of the upcoming blockbuster release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 calling it the game's "secret sauce" to deliver "the most approachable gameplay experience."
"That game's sixty frames-per-second engine delivers an incredible amount of precision and an incredible gaming experience." (Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO).
A number confirmed by, Creative Strategist for Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling (@fourzerotwo) in a tweet last week.All summer long, Activision and EA have been in marketing warfare. Some speculate Electronic Arts' Battlefield 3 will dethrone Call of Duty as the No. 1 FPS title internationally. At this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), we saw both games in action and many people were nothing shy of impressed by Battlefield 3's visuals and sound quality. No doubt, the game is striking, but all that detail limits it from performing beyond thirty frames-per-second. After the sand settles, is running at twice the frame rate as its top competitor enough to keep Call of Duty wearing the crown? To be honest, most gamers probably won't even know the difference. As longs as both games run smoothly and things get blown up, it's going to be a tight race. Of course, Activision is also banking on it's Call of Duty Elite service which will be launching alongside Modern Warfare 3 on November 8, 2011. (Battlefield 3 will be released October 25, 2011.)

It was obvious MW3 would run faster than BF3. Nothing to do about it since MW3's graphics are out of BF3's league, thus explaining it to run at 60FPS. Now, Battlefield 3 has more to render and execute than MW3, so that explains the 30FPS. Same as Bad Company 1 and 2.

Obvious news are obvious. Battlefield was always based on PC community, when CoD games - on consoles. I've tried BF3 alpha on my PC (which hasn't the top hardware) and it did 40+ fps on high settings with 1920x1080 resolution. CoD games are using the same engine for many years. I bet I would be able to run it with 60 fps on my old pc (core 2 duo with gts 8800 512mb).
Seems like Activision has buttheart.
