The statement from EA/Victory Games on C&C (formerly Generals 2) sounds like they rage quit and wrote a nice letter of resignation to conceal that fact. Just my observation.

For those who know my normal crusades, this may come as a little surprise, but I need to vent something.

What the Crap EA? What does this gain you? Burning everything? ohh just because C&C fans were a little testy compared to Blizzards field of Zombies? Or that there was too much cool looking idea's for a **** quota? The Flying **** how does this make sense?

I wish the guys at Victory all the luck in getting work, and there bosses can get a a whole oak shoved in there *****.

Now, welcome to the C&C fan Darkside!

But really, this game would suck without moddability and map making, wich it didnt have. These features were taken on purpose so we would just keep buying new Generals and maps, the game would have died anyway, with people calling the death of C&C at the four winds.
Face it EA, C&C is not War/Starcraft, its community and fans are mostly single players, and we dont want a competitive, clautrophobic game. If I want Starcraft, I play Starcraft. Its the same generalisation of RTS that makes Supreme Commander 2 a bad game, when compared to SupCom 1 and TA.

Darkside? Nah, I'm still fighting for Console CnC's and Tib Twilight. You chumps still make stupid statements that I have to call out.

But in the same bull **** calling, I have to call this bit of news a ginormous pile of the steamy stuff. EA stept in it this time, and I'm calling them on it. Just like the Console patches.

You do have to agree that us, more conservative C&Cers, are right on a few aspects of ourclaims against modern incarnations of the series, don't you?
Also, no matter what your opinion may be, I respect it, and you should respect me, Im not a chump, I don't make stupid statemenrs (atleast not on a regular basis) and I don't throw around piles of the "steamy stuff".

you did a quick read did you? That whole second paragraph was directed to EA. Chumps is an in general phrase, and Yes, I do agree with some things, it's that there is Nothing that more "conservative" CnCers agree with me with.

As someone who enjoys every C&C to some extent, even C&C 4 and Sole Survivor, firing an entire team of devs after 3 years of input and putting the nail in the coffin of C&C?

I know this comment is going to get downvoted to oblivion but these are my thoughts:
The cancelled C&C was going the wrong way, with Starcraft like gameplay, mirrorred and claustrophobic maps, too many Generals without much differenciation between them (just a couple of units/structures and a support power besides mixing up the tech tree a bit is not nearly enough, look at ZH Generals) and a cartoony vibe that was way to similar to RA3 (wich I hated, even Uprising wich I played and finished).

Now, I believe we can be civil and read eachothers opinios without starting a karma war, but I'm not getting my hopes up for this comment. Prove me wrong, do me that favour.

I've been playing since early May, and I have to say that it took awhile, but the game was heading in the right direction. "With Starcraft like gameplay", that's pretty much what Generals was to begin with. Maps I agree with. However, I feel that the claustrophobic feeling of the maps came from the unit and structure scaling. If they would have scaled everything but infantry down, it would have felt less claustrophobic, but then you would have been complaining "INFANTRY TOO BIG. DO NOT LIKE, UNREALISTIC". I also agree about the Generals. However, both maps and Generals could be changed. I don't get the cartoony vibe from the game, nor I don't understand why others get that vibe. To some people, does a wide range of colors = cartoon, and bleached colors = realistic?

Anyways, I will upvote you, since I am a gentleman.

Thank you.
I actually never complained of C&C infantary, I always assumed they were that big so we could spot them on big maps, without squinting our eyes. :)
I got the cartoony vibe mainly from EU, their tanks didnt even had camo or a decent warpaint, they looked like construction vehicles (I mean their skin/textures, not the models).
When I mention Starcraft gameplay I mean the "Hills game" (where everyone begins a match on a hil or easilly defendable and closed position instead of a more C&Cish "make do with what you got and wall in" method), where there is virtually no plains or asymetry on the maps, and every stock map is competitive oriented, wich I really hate, asymetric maps are way more fun, I only like mirrored maps every once in a while, and this doesnt even happen on real battlefield, wich makes it look silly. Also they kept throwing away Starcraft terminology on the previews, and i run away from any game where a player expands to their "natural", it just makes think of multiplayer competition instead of classical C&C fun.
