It's not a mere EVA, but a higly intelligent AI.
Just another higly intelligent AI that backstabbed everyone.
There's some debate on whether it was CABAL the one who backstabbed everyone or Kane.
CABAL has higher intelligent AI because he sucked on human brains who were keep alive in a stasis tubes, thus allowing him to think freely unlike EVA. I think without those stasis tubes, CABAL would be another EVA. Kane was seen in those stasis tubes and I think its Kane who backstabbeds everyone.
