Just wanted to compare the very first Mammoth Tank with its latest reincarnation. Yep, there's fail written all over that new toy tank they call a Mammoth >_>

Does anyone notice the 4th edition is almost a complete copy of the 1st edition when looking at design =P
Yeah, they tried to make it look like the bulk of armor the original one is but ended up making it look like a cheap chubby toy made in China >_>

I wonder, are you guys really this pathetic? It's just a tank that by the way doesn't even exist, They made the cannons bigger and added 2 more missiles to each pod (but broke them into separate pods) and they turned them green. You guys act like they just changed it into a big bunny or something like that.
Your argument is like saying a Sherman tank is better than an Abrams because it's a "classic". That's ridiculous. I have no problems if you want to make fun of EA and CNC, everyone has their opinions, just go do it somewhere other than a CNC fan group.
Grow up, things change and we all evolve with them.

actually, the C&C4 one looks like crap, the first one is to bland for me (I prefer RA2 apoc and even RA3 apoc) but the right one is extremly blocky and ugly.
i prefer the C&C3 one the most.
but notice how everyone hates every unit in C&C4 no matter wat. even the mastadon which looks awesome in my opinion.
thats not true, i like the enlightened, the basilisk (scaling sucks though) and the reaper (note that this is for design, not effectiveness). at least i dont hate all unit designs in C&C4, but most of them, u have to admit they are REALLY bad.
yamen21, you're too right, people just keep on hating no matter what, i think i'll just stop caring now. since obviously all they understand is "EA SUX" never mind a well written argument with actual proof defending them. But at least out of the entire last 3 games he likes - errrr, make that "doesn't mind" - 3 units... victory?
Note: I'm not a "F*CK EA!!" nerd. A lot of stuff EA makes are cool. Shame some of them a very buggy (e.g Mercenaries 2) or so full of unnecessary bullcrap that it overshadows an otherwise great game (e.g Red Alert 3). Ya can't expect everyone to keep chunning out good stuff. There's bound to be a failure, like CnC4. Heck, EA is making NFS: Hot Pursuit 3 like how its past games are: no more fast n furious, ricer crap and I'm very grateful for that.
CnC4 is just a small bit of fail, get over it. I do hate EA for swallowing some of the other great companies and making their games not as fun as the original (the Burnout series is an exception though).
exactly people should just get over it, also just because EA buys out a company doesn't mean that they're games suck, look at Bioware. Every single Bioware game is good. The reason that the other ones suck is probably just because most of the original team left and they had to find new peopel to replace them. It's not like EA is the kiss of death, Almost every EA game is moddable, so a large chunk of mods from this site would never have existed if it wasn't for them, This group might not have existed if it wasn't for them.
The render on the left was way ahead of its time. Looks closer to an actual photograph than that cartoonish render to the right which is an actual in-game model. In terms of computer graphics I am in favor of the evolution of more realistic graphics (the Mammoth Tank to the left). However, one exception to this, while the overall design is mostly unchanged (unlike the Juggernaut design comparison that is also posted on here which does indeed look silly to have short barrels for an artillery unit) perhaps the only issue with this comparison is that there is no good C&C4 Mammoth Tank "Photographic Render" that does justice for that unit unlike the Tiberian Dawn Mammoth Tank which had no comparable in-game model in existance until C&C Renegade. This is one of the very few unit designs that looked decent in C&C4 IMHO.
One thing the old C&C games (and Generals) had: cameos and renders that tried to be realistic in blending the units with a RL background.
I Declare the new Mammoth tank as Dwarfed and morbidly Obese.
the C&C4 mammoth tank is overall ok, but the cannons and the pods are screwing it up for me. on the TD tank i never liked the front, i dont know, i just dont like it.
My only real issue is the texturing, most of the model looks ok to me.
It's not bad, but still My statement is: C&C3 Mammoth own all ^^ (Ra2 Apoc as well).
