Ok so I know its an older game now command and conquere tiberian wars but hopefully someone will still be playing the game by the time im done making this.
Heres the basic layout im remaking monopoly within the game using its mechanics which while not hugely limited its difficult to spot problems
In my design before I go spending weeks then discovering my map laggs like hell. (did this with a pacman map once.. eventually worked out better ways to script it)
In any event I wish to know if anyone can give me some pointers if im going off track towards too much time and lagg to be useful.
So Far I have named icons , drawn the board up roughly , added about 400 waypoints and added scripts for each player that comprise
If counter = 1 put the person here kind of thing.
trouble is when im adding property ownerships and such how i do the subroutines ..
not very handy with these and i suspect i need to be pretty clear with them to get this map workin good.
Recently i seen an open source file for this game through regular programming language what would i need to open the file and look within
to see if my own attempts at remaking are following even roughly simmilar programming equations.
well i guess ill leave this at that except for that the open source one comes from sourceforge and im using most of the text files as my guided basis of construction.
any suggestions alterations or helpful advice would be highly appreciated.
the file types are mostly Vbp , Frm and cls for this open source what could i use to open it up and look inside it with ?.
Or alternately should i just continue on blindly going where no sane man should go anyway ?
ahh i think ill have some sleep first
