Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format of content distribution. Mod DB offers several RSS feeds which link through to the full story on Mod DB. These feeds provide access to our latest news, articles, tutorials, headlines and downloads. These feeds are available where ever you see the RSS icon:
(this will generally be in the top right-hand corner of boxes)
When you click this icon you will generally be presented with a list of RSS agregators so you can choose where you want the feed saved. A direct "XML Link" will also be provided for those people that use RSS applications or the RSS functionality provided by their web browser. To see this system in action click here for our headlines feed.
There are hundreds of feeds available on the Mod DB covering news, features, reviews, tutorials and downloads. We have listed the main site-wide ones below, however if you want a feed for a specific game, mod or engine simply goto their profile, browse their content and click the feed links shown there.
We encourage you to use these feeds so long as you do not post our full-text stories, and so long as you provide proper attribution to Mod DB. Whenever you post Mod DB content on your web site or anywhere else, please credit the Mod DB, either as text (Mod DB - Change the game) or with a graphic (we reference a small 120x90 logo in each feed for this purpose).
For more details on RSS, start with the RSS 2.0 specification. Mod DB is currently using the RSS 2.0 format. The specification includes samples of earlier versions. Custom feeds can also be built and tailored to your news. Contact us for information.
