Report article Server Upgrades Complete

We have now completed server upgrades for ModDB. The site should now be alot faster, and we have added significant streaming capabilities.

The upgrades mentioned on the previous news entry have now been completed. We thank everyone for their patience as there were a few hiccups with slow media (audio/video) rendering times during the upgrades.

We now have 2Gbps of CDN bandwidth in the US, 300Mbps in the EU, and 10Mbps in Australia, with more to come soon!

Please let us know of any feedback you have on the new hardware so we can work on any issues you spot, or let us know how the video streaming speed is (if you had issues before). Please also note that the ModDB download mirrors will be reactivated within 24-48hrs.

UPDATE #1: Download mirrors are up, media is back, everything should be 100% operational and FAST!

Had major issues with our web7 box for about 6 hours (causing the slowness mentioned above).

We tried about a hundred fixes and nothing worked, but now the issue (segfaults) appears to have mysterously dissapeared. So please if the site seems slower to you after the upgrade (it shouldn't, it should be same speed or faster) - PLEASE post a comment here.

Now it's fast again.
I know how evil SegFaults can be. Let me guess - Apache? We once had this issue, it was totally unexplicable - until we found out that it was some strange bug in PHP that only occurred on a specific operating system. Took us two days of work to trace that down.
But if it disappears as mysteriously as it has appeared - fine :D

Thank god, was getting really annoying to use Filefront and such instead of Moddb, I get 800kbs normally but recently I've only gotten around 80, good to see that you guys have fixed it now!

If i am really honest, ModDB.com has been slower for me ever since i read this newspost about server upgrades. :S
The website is terribly slow, and downloads run at a 8 kB/s maximum speed.
I hope its only temporarily! :)
