Mod DB Upgrades Complete. news - ModBlog

Since the 1st of August, Mod DB has been performing behind the scenes work to improve the speed of the site, and also our download system - which is growing rapidly! Our file library is growing at a rate of 200% every year, which is a testament to the rapidly growing Mod and Indie development scenes!

We now have the following mirrors available to both members and guests:

• 2 x European mirrors, hosted in the Netherlands
• 5 x US-based mirrors, 2 in California, 2 in Denver and 1 in Texas
• 1 x Australian mirror, in Perth.
• We also continue to have Filefront available as a download option for users and guests.

The new mirroring system that was programmed by site creator Intense! pushes out new and popular files to all mirrors - meaning within about 15 minutes of a file being uploaded through the site, it will be available to download worldwide.

We are still looking for ISP's and hosting providers interested in providing mirrors - we can use up as little as 100GB of space and 10Mbits of bandwidth - all the way up to 5TB of space and a Gigabit of bandwidth, depending on what you are willing to offer! In return we can offer targeted advertising when your mirror is used to download files!

For users - we are looking for feedback on your download speeds - If you get terrible speeds from a specific mirror, please leave us some detailed feedback so we can improve the service to you (i.e. "I downloaded a file from the California mirror yesterday at 8pm PST and i only got 10kb/s, but I am on a 10mbps connection").
