Wait, after watching the video I realized what the 2nd song was. It's the theme of 28 Days Later.

Also, very interesting and kinda horrifying thing to think about. I really hope one day this cycle is broken and humanity can become free from its past.

Valid (and terrifying) in all aspects save one: the sole, and all-encompassing correlation to religion.

It is certainly a shame that so many mindlessly follow religion. However, not all of us religious people are so mindless.

I for one, am not a Christian because I fear Hell, but because I believe in Christianity. Moreover, I try not to blindly follow anything, as it does seem self-destructive to allow any incomplete thought to have a permanent place in your mind.

I'd also like to point out that people will, and do follow just about anything.

For example:
I just saw a commercial for 'Geico'; a car insurance agency here in America. In the commercial, there was a guy with a taste-testing table (say it five times, fast) set up outside some public building. As people walked by, he would offer them samples of two, identical, red liquids.

Everyone who takes the sample likes the first one, and thinks that the second is disgusting.
Then the man reveals the labels of each liquid: the first is "Geico", the second is "Other".

At first, I thought this was a joke, as there is obviously no correlation between a random red beverage and car insurance.

Then, I realized that I have seen many ridiculous advertisements, and that many large institutions (especially insurance agencies) are very unwilling to spend money unless they're sure that it will turn them an even greater profit.

My conclusion to this is: either it is now possible to ring a red liquid out of insurance agencies, thus allowing us to choose whichever one best suits us based on flavor; or many people will mindlessly follow just about anything, as insurance agencies don't waste money on things that won't make them more money.

(A bit of evidence: [ Tumblr.com ]. Read some of the comments - be prepared to cry.)

Furthermore, to say that religion is responsible for the decay of a person's mind is little short of naivete.

Religion is an idea - it is neutral. The real problem lies in corrupt authorities: people who would readily lead their followers into oblivion for the sake of personal advancement.

Overall, I just wanted to say that if something must be burned, I'd advise you to target the wolves dressed as shepherds, rather than the crosses carried by their sheep.

P.S. Sorry for the TL;DR ^_^

As any power, in it's best time Vatican controlled the world. And gathered gold. Yes, there are many organizations that left their original path. Most of them were destroyed. So should be the Church. Or do you need them? I guess you don't. Is God's place in your heart, or in your wallet?

Nobody has any need of the Church, nor of any other corrupt institution for that matter.

About my wallet: I am an American, so it is empty.

If the shepherds are the wolves in disguise, then why can you trust the material they used to get your attention? Something I had to think to think about.

IDC if people believe the Bible is the truth, I just don't want its policies enforced on the rest of us.

About the shepherd analogy: I'm not saying that all shepherds are wolves in disguise. I'm saying... well, here:

-Shepherds: Leaders, the people who care for and protect the sheep.
-Sheep: Followers, the vast majority of people who seek out security under someone who will provide them with answers and protection.
-Wolves: Generally, the bad guys. They’re the people who most often use their natural ability (sharp claws and teeth) to take advantage of (eat) the sheep.

The idea is that the sheep are perfectly fine when they're on their own. They take care of themselves, they take care of each other; they're at peace.

But the sheep aren't alone: there are also the wolves. And whereas the sheep work to survive, the wolves don't want to work. Instead, they take whatever they want directly from the sheep.

None of the sheep like being taken advantage of by the wolves, but a few of them (the shepherds) understand that: while a wolf is stronger than a sheep, the wolves are not stronger than all of the sheep, and that the sheep would be much less vulnerable if they were organized.

And so, as long as there are the shepherds - those who will selflessly lead the sheep against the wolves, the wolves will have a much harder time taking from the sheep.

In fact, it would likely then be easier for the wolves to just join the sheep, and accept having to work. But, while some do, most of them are power hungry - they want to show the sheep and the shepherds that they are strong and can take what they want.

So the wolves attack the sheep, and sometimes the shepherds; and the shepherds defend the sheep.

At some point in time, the wolves realized that the sheep followed their shepherds very faithfully, even blindly. They then understood that they could also organize themselves, and thus have a much greater ability to overpower the shepherds.

Eventually, they were even able to kill off shepherds and replace them with wolves-in-disguise.

After convincing the sheep that they were their shepherds, the wolves would not only no longer need to fight the shepherds, but they would not even need to hunt, as the sheep would come willingly.

What's more, when a new shepherd arises - when one amongst the flock realizes that their "shepherds" are actually wolves and tries to lead the flock away, the wolves have only to say: "No, he is the wolf. We're the ones who have always protected you from his kind; he is only trying to fool you."
And the sheep will believe them.

-Shepherds: George Washington, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, George Carlin, Moses…
-Sheep: All those who follow the people above and below.
-Wolves (bad): Criminals of any kind.
-Wolves (good): Police, Army, those who directly defend the sheep (they’re between sheep and shepherd).
-Wolves in Shepherd’s Clothing: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs, the top 5% of America’s government and society…

There has always been wolves-in-disguise aka bad people who use ideals to control people. It's been in existence ever since dictators came to exist (which is pretty much at the start of human government as we know it).

I like your analogy, I just would like to point out that even the shepherds cannot be trusted (thus the wolves wearing shepherds clothing).

What I actually fear right now is the American government; believe it or not, I've noticed they are taking steps to stop a rebellion if one ever did come to pass. I really think once a government gets to be secure with its own intelligence and military, it can become corrupt because it sees that it cannot be stopped.

Of course, the American government has checks and balances to make sure it cannot become too corrupt, but individual members have been known to be bribed by corporations to keep quiet about specific issues (ESPECIALLY the corrupt health care). Not to mention, no government system is 'perfect' and checks and balances won't do **** if the government keeps quiet about what's going on within it.
