This is a group for those who have broken their mental chains of religion, as well as those who have never been bound by them in the first place. As there being no way to prove the existence of deities, nor anything of superstition. Anything anyone says about any such superstitious notion is a guess and your guess is as good as mine.

What annoys me the most is people saying "Nobody is perfect, only god is".
If god is so perfect, then explain to me, how come, that god made Adam and Eve, is All knowing, aka knows that they are going to do something "against the rules" and then even punishes them?
The only thing god is perfect in is be a psycho.

The annoying thing about the Christian god is that he's apparently all good, all knowing, and infinitely powerful. Yet, he demonstrates the opposite in the Bible. Not just did he kill a lot of people just for disobeying him for even small measures, but killed others just for fun. He completely lacked any respect or moral output on human life.

Even then, how can something apparently of pure 'good' create evil? It's like if I was a king: I proclaim I'm just, but then execute somebody for just looking at me the wrong way. Same situation here.

Don't even get me started on the other two arguments after that lol...

well technically to a god there would be know value to human life, just as humans see no value in individual ants. we kill ants all the time regardless of how the ants feel about it because we know their will always be more ants.

the god of the bible sounds like a sadistic little kid killing ants with a magnifying glass and not destroying humanity because then their would be nothing to torture

moral of the story, if gods exist they would be at the best uncaring and destructive because we don't matter
at the worst they are in our eyes malevolent bastards who enjoy our pain and suffering and care nothing for us, just like a kid killing ants with a magnifying glass

I don't say "Good luck" or "God bless you" to other people. I don't say those things because saying them implies that what they're doing is beyond their control, and that their efforts are not that worth much in the face of cosmic intervention. Instead I say "keep on the good work" or "Your efforts have paid off" because I respect them and their efforts enough to say that.

I dont agree with you on "Good luck" because luck - a happy accident / coincidence) is something you can influence and therefor isnt beyond control, but rather a chance where your own action(s) can be the key for a benefitial outcome.

I don't really mind either of them personally, they're both tidings of goodwill and usually convey a meaning beyond their literal definition. That being said, I don't say "God bless you", as that's a bit long and excessive, but "good luck" is of my vocabulary. It's better than going "May the infallible outcomes of the universe's physical constants produce favorable results, fellow member of mankind! May the statistical probabilities be with you!" (Well actually, that's kind of cool, I'm gonna say that now)

Good luck is ok. I usually don't use "omg" and it's Czech equivalents.

These men were terrorists and clearly trying to send a message. They're trying to spark fear and disarray, possibly even collapse all of Western society by turning us against each other.

We must always remember who the real enemies are, religious or not.

Medusa_Zenovka May 23 2013, 12:47am replied:

Not who is the question, but what. Did we became atheist and propagate reason to fight/protest/despise the unreason? To me, thats the real enemy. Not people, but sick thoughts.

Fear and disarray only unites people with the same attitude together to fight what causes the very same problem. This leads to more bloodshed indeed, but not within the western society, but rather in the middle east. If no one is stopping this cycle, it only causes more violence and misery. Therefor I would say their message was not really thought through. If they really wanted to stop the wars, the yhave to bring government to its knees like the people in the US stopped the vietnam war: by massive protesting and showing the people in Britain what horrors the people do to each other down there.

Its what Im always preaching: deadly weapons are causing more problems then they solve.

The religious motivation seems to be not existing even when they said "God is greatest" ect. It seems more likely it was for the attention. The original motive could be seeing their relitives or people in their home country dying.

It was a brutal and disgusting act still which I cannot support, but the message should be clear by now.
