This is a group for those who have broken their mental chains of religion, as well as those who have never been bound by them in the first place. There being no way to prove the existence of deities, nor anything of superstition, anything anyone says about any such superstitious notion is a guess and your guess is as good as mine.

Well Buddhism is a religion (or more technically a belief) that does not inflict upon society in any harmful ways.

Religions don't have to be violent (evidenced by Buddhism which I consider to be half/half); the problem is what the religions teach.

Some lessons I heard from Buddhism were valuable like "Question everything, and only believe something if it really validates with your common sense, not even from me."

I also don't think I ever heard of Buddhists killing others over their beliefs or forcing others to believe either. This is pretty much why Buddhism is hardly ever criticized, because it is much nicer and doesn't try to restrict other people who don't believe.

The Bible does encourage people to question it without arrogance, to strengthen your beliefs too you know

How many people have been burned at the stake or stoned due to something in a holy text related to Buddhism?

1. Buddist don't believe in a guy who created everything and is unquestionable (God)
2. What Winston said
3. They don't hinder knowledge and technology.
4. What they teach the best out of all religions.

I could say the same for atheism.

Two words. Pol Pot
I suggest watching the debate between Professor John Lennox and Hitchens on "Is God Great?"

Pol Pot, a man with connections to the CIA who also sucked up to Mao purely for support. He also had people killed for trivial reasons such as wearing glasses among other things.

These are actions representative of a delusional *****, where the connection lies between not believing in the supernatural and his or any other tyrannical madman's ambitions seems to escape me. Possibly because there aren't any to speak of...

Need I mention that Vietnam invaded Cambodia to rid the country of the Khmer Rouge after the US finally decided to stop bombing Southeast Asia, or how Stalin abused the heavily religious past of Russia to retain the heavily centralized power structure?

Humanity is often its own worst enemy, our tendency to settle for supernatural answers to otherwise complicated or seemingly impossible questions only exerts the problem.

This would probably be more appropriately placed in the science group. I'll put it there.
