Partial list of Transistion fossils
Apr 10, 2013 News 0 commentsHello members of the Science group, Some people awhile back asked for a list of transistion fossils.
This is a group for those who have broken their mental chains of religion, as well as those who have never been bound by them in the first place. There is no way to prove the existence of a deities, nor any other superstition. Anything anyone says about any superstitious notion is a guess and your guess is as good as mine.
Intrigued by science? Want to discuss new discoveries or theories?

Redirect your self to this group if you wish to discus religion or a number of other topics, rather than flooding our respective groups with constant squabbling. (though feel free to annoy us heathens on occasion, I'm sure some of our members become pretty bored)

Society is changing, conservatism is dying and lunatics are emerging claiming to be on 'your side.'
50 completely "logical" reasons why creationists reject evolution...
Triangulum brought to my attention this amazing article which I had to reply to... Enjoy :)
This was posted on the Christian Group by B7BLUE and it was suggested that you guys might want to read it as well, so I went ahead and posted it. Enjoy...
Being religious fanatic is not good. But neither is just laughting into face to everyone who has some faith.
has 'atheist' become a dirty word? it sounds dirty, insulting, negative
i,like many of yourselfs am a religious non-beliver.
i was taught when youhg that atheism meant 'belief in nothing' or 'no belief in anything' which, im sure is NOT true of any of us - we all belive in something....friendship,family, even money.
agnostic implies that i (we) have not yet come to a decision over religeous belief....which for me isnt true,...so i cannot use this word to describe myself.
should i try to OWN the word 'atheist' (kind of like blacks have with 'nigga' or like homosexuals have with 'gay') thereby disarming the word of any 'derogatory' implication?
maybe i just had a bad language/comprehension teacher, who mis explained the exact meaning of the word to me?
i should like to hear all thoughts on these things from you all please? KJ
Agnostic by definition means you do not know and understand you can never know if there is or is not a deity.
Atheist by definition means you do not believe in a deity.
An Antitheist is what Hitchens once said of himself, the quote was along these lines if not exactly this. "I can't prove there is no god, but I wouldn't want to live in a universe with one."
I am all of these, though I describe myself as an Antitheist.
I think we need an Atheist society like this to deal with all those religious nuts out there, I don't want to join you guys but I support what you do, thank you.
Dear Esther came out today and this seemed like the perfect group to share it with. It's 10$ on steam or you can get the mod for hl2 for free. The game itself is really thought provoking with beautiful source mapping. Highly recommend at least trying it.
Will do when I get the chance mate
Gonna add another question that I think should have gone with the last few...
Q. It took 3 days to create the Earth, right? One day to make the Sun? And one day to make the stars? Think about it for a moment. What seems bigger for a primitive person on Earth? The Earth. The rest appear to be smaller because they are so far away. This is another nail in the coffin as again God proves to have a person's point of view on the Earth, not from his magical land of Heaven. He doesn't seem to know much about what he creates either as he screws up in classifying them.
3 periods of time / stages to create the Earth.
What's the Sun? It's a highly concentrated energy bubble, nothing more.
The Earth, on the other hand, has many layers, and only its planetary core is the energy. (Remember various processes that were needed to shape the Earth as you know it now?)
Size doesn't matter at all, only processes (that can be identified in stages) that take place to create a celestial body.
You could possibly turn Jupiter into a star if you bombarded it with enough energy. What would you have to do to make a planet similar to the Earth, and so evolved? Thousands of times more than just that...

Yes, almost every time you see "time" in the Bible it is the word "yom" that means:
1. time
2. year
3. age
4. ago
5. always
6. season
7. chronicles
8. continually
9. ever
10. evermore
11. and more...
You need to learn Hebrew to read the Bible. ;-) As stated in that article, Hebrew has almost 9 thousand words that are used in conjunction with each other to create entirely new meanings.
Both evolutionists and creationists are right. Same truth, differently worded, and differently viewed.
Conflicts and quarrels about this topic come from complete misunderstanding.
The OT should be read in Hebrew to understand it the way it was written, without being confused by translations. Judging the Old Testament laws should be done only by comparing them to other cultures' codices of that times, they also prescribed harsh penalties for crimes.
Well, from how I see it, you can take the Bible literally, metaphorically, or as a guide to morals/life. My Dad is a literalist in every sense of the word, but what really gets me is when people try to defend God's actions by saying "We deserved it!" or "It was planned!" If it was planned, that still doesn't explain why people like the Native Americans would've went to Hell for thousands of years because they had no access to the Bible. Same thing goes with many Asian/African people. For the apologists who defend the Bible by saying certain parts are metaphorical, you can't cherry pick from the Bible and say what is literal and what is not.
To me, the Bible sounds literal straight from the start. There's no other reason why it should not because it just described a very uneducated and primitive creation story.
