I have a problem with this just is fact she is only protesting for women, there are men in the world that aren't allowed education, if she widened her opinion as to who should receive education; everybody, not just women, and not just men, i would appreciate what she said more because to survive as a race we must all have the knowledge to to help adapt, and to get further than what we are currently capable of.
True, but that can be said in all countries, it exists everywhere and will do for a lot longer due to some people thinking that males should be more dominant because they have been for longer, women being equal is relatively new
Meh, when it comes to the middle east the word feminist has an actual point given how men so thoroughly dominate the entire area in pretty much every possible way. I'm sure you've heard of laws against women so much as driving or the local neanderthals raping some woman for having dared to show some small amount of skin.
It's pretty much only when it comes to blatantly(relatively anyways) sexually equal parts of the world that feminism shamelessly becomes sexism, like in 1st world nations.
In Sweden, women are starting a fight against men slouching on public transportation. Why? Because males slouch to show dominance of chairs in their patriarchy...
Im in a gender and anthropology class (its basically a way to force anthro majors to deal with women studies profs)
I learned really quickly you are not suppose to mention the middle east and patriarchy together.
apparently women in the mid east aren't oppressed at all
we are only allowed to talk about how oppressed upper middle class white women are.

Yeah I agree, but you gotta also consider that in their country, a patriarchy most definitely exists.
