This group has been formed to gather the people who enjoy Japanese anime and all of its facets, to salute the people from the land of the Rising Sun.

We do not want any ecchi or hentai images in the image gallery. Those that are posted will be removed. Also, take it easy in posting your entire collection of Naruto images. You should only share a few that you personally like. For the rest, people can always find them on their own. I recommend posting a link in your description (and every image should ideally contain a description).

I leave to do some RL stuff for like a month and Everyone is trying to till each other over a word? And yes that is what this boils down to.

Though I wonder about a few things, Like Spawn, Mass Effect, Marvels Anime, Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within?

Is anime What is concept in Japan? Then Speed Race the next generation is Anime?

Is it Made in Japan? Then Boondocks, done by a Japanese studio, is anime.

And Those Going the Jingoistic Route of "Only in Japan" need to do a little more looking than what is in recent memory. Several Studio Glibi Films, Like Howls Moving Castle, and Arietti are based on Western stories, so is Howl not anime?

Are you or an easily Wikipedia page the Line? Is it a feel, a location, a maker? Can You Dictate what or is not just because of your own volition?

TL;DR What is Anime? And are you wrong?

Also, here's a video, the episode ends about halfway.

Anime is Japanese cartoons. That's all there is to it.

What is hard to understand about that!?

So Spawn and the Boondocks are Anime to you.

SoraZ Jul 28 2014, 6:31pm replied:

Depends. Do you mean the Comic Book character or someone else? Because if so, according to Wikipedia there is in fact a manga spin-off called "Shadows of Spawn". As for Boondocks, nothing seems to indicate Japanese producers, so right now I'd say no.

Besides, let me give you an example as well: Iron Man. Obviously a comic book but there is also an anime of it produced by Madhouse.

I'm talking about the '90s self titled Show on HBO and the Currently Running Boondocks Both made by Studio Madhouse. Though Madhouse was not credited with Boondocks.

And What about Japanese productions that were made outside of Japan? Many Shows use Korean Animators, and Several CG Animated shows use outside studios.

SoraZ Jul 28 2014, 7:29pm replied:

Yeah, and? That's called outsourcing and is not exactly a new practice.

If you are talking about this:
It's a cartoon, thought and directed by an American. Again, outsourcing; and no it was not Madhouse who created it but one of their SK subsidiaries, which makes this an example of outsourcing outsourcing. IF it was made by Madhouse proper and they were credited with it and IF it was directed by a Japanese person, then the argument could be made.

Jason_Zombolt Jul 28 2014, 7:35pm replied:

Yes that one.

So anything that's outsourced is DQ'd from being an anime? So your willing to Take away anime status just because other people from other countries have worked on it?

SoraZ Jul 28 2014, 7:44pm replied:

No, I'm willing to take anime status away from cartoons because they were not created/thought up/directed by JAPANESE PEOPLE working IN JAPAN for JAPANESE FIRMS under JAPANESE LAW, unless they are created by firms by virtue of oursourcing who are working under contract with JAPANESE FIRMS who are contracted to create something. This is not the case for Boondocks because neither was Madhouse credited nor were they even contracted. They went straight for the SK subsidiary.

Or the TL;DR version, Japanese-made cartoons are called Anime.

Ah yes! I forgot about that, really like the more mature style especially compared to something like Gundam AGE. Will make sure to pick it up. I see that there's been newer Gundam series out as well so I'll have to check those out too.
