those are superhero costume. more like exosuits than humongous mechas.

I just watched the trailer, and yeah there's few sponsor self-inserts. :P
but beside that and the silly title, the graphic looks amazing. basically like what maxen said, but I see instead a solid unfunny rainbow cheersquad the concept is more like a reality show.

if you like tokusatsu, scifi, or just action shots in general, you'll find this appealing. but if you're a moe-junker I don't think you will watch this.

I'll put this into my list.

The title really doesn't do it justice. I am currently watching this series and enjoying it for the most part, but I basically started watching this on a whim. I took one look at the title and thought "tiger & bunny? this is gonna suck! ... oh well, might as well try it out and just not watch the other episodes when they come out if it sucks."

I guess I should have paid more attention to my own observation that I made a while back that titles generally lose their "coolness" factor after being translated from one language to another. At least it seems that way when you translate from Japanese to English.

its not really in that mask rider, power ranger genre ... I don't know what you would call it ...

Its more like american style superheroes (infact I think the setting is based somewhere in the U.S.) except they're corporately backed and competing in a weird gameshow.

one of the major themes I think is going on is the difference between "Being a hero for the sake of being a hero" and "being a hero for fame and cash" kotetsu (tiger) in this series is one of the main characters and to be honest is a horrible hero, but he has strong beliefs about what a hero should be and follows them all the time. (he's the naturally good person with a strong will kinda character.) Other heroes don't seem to share his beliefs as strongly and seem to be doing it for a mixture reasons such as revenge, fame, money, etc.

Description

The series takes place in a fictional re-imagined version of New York City called Sternbild City, where 45 years before, individuals with superpowers called "NEXT" started appearing and some of them became superheroes. Each of city's most famous superheroes work for a sponsor company and their uniforms also contain advertising for real-life companies. Their heroic activity is broadcasted on the popular television show "Hero TV", where they accumulate points by each feat accomplished and the best ranked hero of the season is crowned "King of Heroes". The story mainly focuses on veteran hero Kotetsu T. Kaburagi aka Wild Tiger who is assigned with a new partner, a young man named Barnaby Brooks Jr. However, Barnaby and Kotetsu usually have trouble working together as they have conflicting opinions on how a superhero should act.

An awesome anime, I recommend it for superhero anime fan :D
