I like both the movies and the series. The movies definitely capture the brutality and epicness of Gattsu better than the series. I haven't read all manga but what I've read is really good.

Berserk deserve way more attention then any other anime/manga
Guts kick *** SO MUCH. in Berserk where sex, gore, rape is all in dayly basis. Yust reflect true medievil times.
Guts-Berserk, Alucard-Hellsing, Vash Stampede-Trigun, Blue Gender, Gintoki-Gintama(not gore but the funn is making it way cooler), and all other old shcool anime/manga novels
But Guts is still with his twistad fate the baddes

BUT GUTS IN MANGA DIDNT LIKE THE RELIGION SO SEE HIM WITH A CROSS MEAN THE AUTOR DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM.

Description

A very deep and dark plot... Expect cruelty, brutality and gore. I only recommend the manga (it's fantastic) and the movies. I couldn't watch the anime adaptation, I didn't like it.

Guts, known as the Black Swordsman, seeks sanctuary from the demonic forces that pursue him and his woman, and also vengeance against the man who branded him as an unholy sacrifice. Aided only by his titanic strength, skill, and sword, Guts must struggle against his bleak destiny, all the while fighting with a rage that might strip him of his humanity. Berserk is a dark and brooding story of outrageous swordplay and ominous fate, in the theme of Shakespeare's Macbeth.
