The Clone Wars is a time of great misfortune and hardship for the galaxy. A Galactic Republic that has stood uncontested for a little more than a thousand years was ripped apart by war and political upheaval. Honorable Jedi Knights and brave Clone warriors fought the seemingly unstoppable ranks of the mechanized death machine that was the Separatist droid army. The historical importance of the Clone Wars is measured by the sacrifices of the Jedi order, the fall of a Republic, and the journey of Anakin Skywalker from a Padawan to a full blown Jedi Knight, and eventually a dreaded Sith Lord.
If you are unfamiliar with the Star Wars dating system, it is much like our own. There is a zero point in which the dates of all other events are derived from. In our dating system, we use the zero point B.C. (or B.C.E. Whichever you prefer). Now the Star Wars dating system uses B. B. Y. which stands for “Before The Battle of Yavin”. Also, you will see that I have also put another acronym: ABG, this is an acronym for “After The Battle of Geonosis”.
Note: due to the countless continuity errors that the 2008 Clone wars television series has produced, all events from that series have been excluded from this list until it can be properly canonized and introduced into the current time line. However, I have added the date for the Battle Of Christophsis to give fans of the TV cartoon series an idea where it's place on the time line is supposed to be. Also I had to move Christophsis's date from 21 BBY to 19BBY in order for the time-line to work.
