I dont get it, whats the point ot assault the statue? Its an island, its not some super tactical place or anything anyway. Maybe good for aa units, but aa weapons are so long range nowa days, it wouldnt matter if u put there or on a ship 100km away. So whats the point to paradrop troops and then take them back again?
yes. though i would think that instead of being demoralized they would be motivated to take the statue back and drive the soviets out of american land now wouldn't they?
capturing Hollywood? That is a good idea! Sure the soviets had an advanced propaganda program but nothing compared to hollywood which reaches the whole world ;)

maybe an assault on the statue of Liberty would serve as an diversion, if the soviets have posicioned those cargo freighters in the pots and then launched a paradrop assaul in the statue, that would divert the atention of the americans to the statue while they disembarc their troops. But noone thought about that...
