Brazil won't be hue hueing so much when he finds out that that Su-35 outperforms his Gripen in nearly every aspect on paper.

I find people's comments amusing on this Topic TBH.

The Gripen IS A BETTER Multi role fighter for BRAZIL's Mission statement.

That being said in this case The Su-35 is to much of an Aircraft in this case and is pretty much Overkill for what they need and has a different role overall then the Gripen.

That Being said..

If Russia offered Mig-35s along with Su-35s I would have been scratching my head over their choice.

IMO though they should have went for The Rafale..

It still is a statement though. If Brazil had decided to buy the Su-35 and the rights to build them it would of strengthened Russia-Brazil relationships no end. But as it is, going with the Gripen leaves Russia a little bit sore.

Indeed, for the time being. But with strengthening ties to BRICS and the distancing from the US because of the spy scandal, Brazil may just be changing that mission statement in the upcoming years, something they'll need aircraft to match.

Gripens will match, they only won't dominate. Those planes Russia offered are superb, but also pretty expensive to buy and operate. From politic view, buying somebody's weaponry makes you dependent - so Sweden as neutral country looks better choice than ambitious superpower.

True, true. I did like how they dumped the F-18 contract as well. That certainly sent a no nonsense message.

The FA-18 would have also been a good choice and pretty much had it won until Obama and America's spygate Fiasco.

The US got just deserts in this case.

I är fröm Sweden and den Gripen is ett good flygplan manufaktured av SAAB. It kan attackera IKEA and moose with bomber, maskingevär and missiler and is very effektiv and gööd looking. xD
