Description

A Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero fighter at the NACA Langley Reserch Center in Hampton Virginia (USA), in March 1943. This plane had been captured at Akutan Island, Alaska, in August 1942. It was repaired in September 1942 and after limited flying on the U.S. West Coast, the Zero arrived at Langley for installation of test equipment prior to in-depth flight testing by the U.S. Navy at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland (USA). The plane was destroyed in an accident in 1945.
