Im new to modelling (proper) but been playing around for a few years with milkshape, I now own 3Ds max9 Im having trouble modelling some weapons for my mod, My favorite the P90 and the rifle varient FN2000
I have some decent refference photos but just finding it hard with the curves and intricant details.

If you're modelling 'on a budget', I'd say Milkshape 3d is a good start. It costs a little, but it's a really good program once you figure out how to use it. It's also brilliant for compiling.
