LA is amazing but damn it's so annoying when the AI bugs out, when enemies don't fight back, completely ignore you even if your up in their face that breaks the game more for me then any other bugs or crashes.
The most face palm worthy moment was the 'feared' sniper on the bridge in garbage, I could walk up to him and knife him in the face without any response whatsoever xD
At that point I just had to quit and wait for a patch.
Funny how the military are spetsnaz but they are pretty stupid ones. When you get into a firefight, you can pretty much survive by rushing them if you are lucky.
not all of the AI highlighted in red in youre binoculars will instantly attack on sight , its just that they are not youre friends . As you approach the bridge roadblock guys for the first time at the start area sidorvich comes on the radio and explains this to you and says to try to speak to them. I remember reading somewhere Dezowave explaining it was different in lost Alpha to other mods as they wanted it to be more realistic and you can change a factions standing with you by talking to them etc, its a lot deeper than the usual than the usual instant shootout we have been used to . Is it buggy sometimes ? i cant say for sure as im early in to the game but i appreciate what theyre trying to do/done. I will try find the article/post and link it ok.
You misunderstand, I know this, I've dealt with Sin and the Military we aren't exactly friends but they don't shoot me on sight (yet) either. However the bandits were really supposed to open fire on me on sight (and the other ones I killed before the sniper in the passage to the bridge did put up some minor resistance) the sniper was supposed to spot and kill me for all intents and purposes yet did not. The AI in general like mentioned by TLKwarrior is pretty stupid.. this might be a byproduct of their new faction system but it's still pretty annoying.
Also I don't mean to sound ungrateful all the bugs and crashes aside Lost Alpha is what I've always wanted and I really appreciate the effort and time they took to make it. Since they had to rush the release because of the leak it wouldn't have been polished. At least with everybody playing finding bugs they'll be able to fix and polish the game a lot better.
sorry for the misunderstanding its just i think that it could be a lot clearer than it currently is about that game mechanic as ive seen a lot of complaint of AI not engaging and saw a lets play video where they asumed they had to kill Sin to rescue fox because they were highlighted in red on the map & binoculars. It does cover it in the FAQ briefly but it could be more front n centre imo to make it clearer.The other bugs you mentioned though are a valid point and i hope they fix them soon. Sounds like that it will be not wrong for wait patching LA to play it.
