Zombie Grinder is the debut game of TwinDrills, an indie game development duo made up of Tim 'Infini' Leonard and Jordan 'Jordizzle' Chewning. It's a multi-platform (windows, mac, Linux!) (also Free!) cooperative multiplayer arcade game, reminiscent in style and gameplay of retro games like 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' and 'Super Smash TV!', but with the added benefit of some newer game mechanics - achievements, ranking, player-customization, rpg style stats and so forth. The game sports a variety of different game modes, from co-operative 'campaign' style levels, to wave maps and even the classic 'pvp' style game modes - deathmatch, capture the 'bag' and so forth. All of these mods are bristling with a variety of weapons and items, all lovingly displayed in Jordan's classic quirky pixel-art style.

Good question. Changed a lot of the master server code that deals with generating these links, may have broken it while doing so. Odd though, everything seemed to work when I was testing it. Sure it can make a connection to twindrills.com without problems?

if its really that big a problem, you could always put the mod and the map in a .zip file and upload it to the interwebs :O

Auto-downloads will not work that way though, the file needs to be patched, uploaded and a link generated on twindrills for that to work :S

Huuum, just tried building several files, they all gave me a link correctly. Sure it's not being blocked by AV or anything?

Sure, just put the files in Bin\Audio\BGM and change the BGM url in the map properties to your file.

Be aware we mainly only support tracker files for background music, (specifically .it files), other formats will likely work, but may not in future.

ok i have a dumb question.... how do i delete things i have painted on a layer? (collisions/sprite wise) I can delete objects with delete but when it comes to deleting a tile placed on a layer there is no luck :( ALSO is there any shortcut keys for the SDK?

Hold shift and right click the tiles you want to remove.

The only shortcuts atm are the ones described in the status bar of the editor.

Hmm, I've been selecting one of the 'blank' tiles and just painting it with the blank. Am I doing it wrong? :O

I'm to lazy to click the ctrl button so I do exactly the same thing lol.

Technically its probably not the best way as it would cause the engine to render the polygons for those tiles even though the texture being applied is completely see-through. But in practice it probably dosen't really make any difference.

Ummm, I finally fixed almost everything in my map, but for some reason I get this when trying to make the mod file:

No differences found! Could not build mod file!

ok I know that i did some MAJOR changes since my last attempt to *coughs* test my map.
I already tried renaming the mod and placing it it different folders

*facedesking repeatedly because hard work may be for nothing*

Please tell me you didn't overwrite game.dat?

--

May 16 2012 Anchor

no, I was just editing my map and trying to make it a mod. Though i did look at game.dat when i was poking through scripts to learn how your they work :P

Huuum.

Try doing a blank install and copying your map files over to it.

All the mod pacakager does is check the local files against the ones in game.dat, if any changes are found they are packaged into a zgmod file.

Is all of my achievement and item info in the game.dat? I really don't want to lose my stuff, because I could always copy the map on a flash drive and make the mod on silverstee1's computer when I go to his house next time. :P

Also, how do you connect a keycard/key to a lock/automatic door because i wanted to make areas accessable after you buy them (i basically have all the weapons able to buy but some are locked until you buy the key) I think I sor tof get the gist of the scripting doors opening through objectives (poking through the scripts again), but I wanted to make it an optional/unlockable thing.
Hotfile.com (link to my map pic)

I got all of the major layering issues resovled, though i have to fix the layers of the tiles so that way your head doesnt go through the walls

P.S. the outside of map marker is there, I accidentaly cut it out just in case you were wondering

No profile data is stored elsewhere on the computer, its safe to delete the entire install directory and create a blank one if you wanted.
