Zombie Grinder is the debut game of TwinDrills, an indie game development duo made up of Tim 'Infini' Leonard and Jordan 'Jordizzle' Chewning. It's a multi-platform (windows, mac, Linux!) (also Free!) cooperative multiplayer arcade game, reminiscent in style and gameplay of retro games like 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' and 'Super Smash TV!', but with the added benefit of some newer game mechanics - achievements, ranking, player-customization, rpg style stats and so forth. The game sports a variety of different game modes, from co-operative 'campaign' style levels, to wave maps and even the classic 'pvp' style game modes - deathmatch, capture the 'bag' and so forth. All of these mods are bristling with a variety of weapons and items, all lovingly displayed in Jordan's classic quirky pixel-art style.

Hello there, guys, when I try to play with my Gamepad, Linux does detect my Gamepad and my Gamepad buttons work, but Game doesn't detect my Gamepad, so I can't play with this, any idea? :(

---------

Edit: After Watchin' my Gamepad configuration in Jscalibrator, I see, Jscalibrator or jstest, both recogonize my Game Controller as Joystick, so I can't configure them, and I think, that's why the Game doesn't detect it....

----------

Sorry, but the title is wrong, It's a Gamepad not a Joystick, I didn't find anyway to edit title.

What make/model of gamepad are you using?

I've got the same problem.

My joystick:
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 0079:0006 DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick

I am using a Logitech Rumblepad 2 on Kubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. The gamepad works fine in pretty much every other game I'm running with joystick support but isn't detected at all in Zombie Grinder, so I haven't even gotten as far as trying to configure it...

Are you guys actually rebinding the controls to your joystick?

Its not plug-and-play, there are no separate control schemes for joysticks and keyboards (though there probably should be). To use a joystick you have to plug one in, navigate to the key binding menu and rebind everything to the joystick.

Wait... Perhaps I'm missing something... But in the game, where you choose your bindings, if I go to the Joystick box to select which joystick to use, nothing is picked up. I can't tell it to use my gamepad, so I can't get to the point of mapping anything.

Unless I'm seriously missing something here...

Thanks! :)

Ignore the joystick box. Just select a key, select rebind and hit the key on your joypad.

If it dosen't work, then I have some digging to do lol. Joystick interfaces are fairly standard on linux so it should work with most all.

Nope - no luck, I'm afraid... Gamepad works fine in all other (supported) games, but I can't rebind with the gamepad either, even when ignoring the joystick box. Nothing happens when I hit any joystick buttons or direction controllers...

Same here :( I can't rebind with my gamepad on linux. Works on other games, even in steam big picture mode. Joystick box also empty...
I really want to play this game with gamepad :)
