It's free and simple to download so it doesn't hurt to try. Get the game, register an account, and if you have any trouble running it, ask in the forums or chat.

It works with some integrated graphics so your best bet is to try. Apart from the graphics the rest of your computer should be fine.

More information would be helpful.

Apparently setting 'CompressTextures = 0' can fix some Intel graphics issues. This is in springsettings.cfg through the 'Open game data folder' button in settings.

+ constant development, improvement, bugfixing
+ single commander unit brings unique possibilities, small part of roleplay here ;)
+ massive strategic online metagame with Planetwars
+ unique gameplay with various units and technologies
+ terraforming the 3d-map with intuitive interface
+ game interface customizable and extendable via widgets
+ real 3d, affecting strategy, movement, sightlines, shotlines etc
+ 3d world is complete zoomable till whole map is visible, iconization of units on zoomout
+ camera controls are easy and intuitive to use (gameplay feels like suppreme commander)
+ air, water, land(flat/hill), amphibious, spider(all land terrain), each makes different units more or less usefull

- not much of a (singleplayer) campaing (so far)
- engine might be a bit older (but effects are nice though)
(-> but unlike other games, graphics are not distracting the user and clear, so enforces strategic gameplay)

just gotta love this game.

So yeah, when're you guys planning to give the animations for the Commanders and some of the Kbots a facelift? Specially the Support/Recon comms?

Not high on the priority list currently, PlanetWars is the focus, but also balance and user interface as the multiplayer is fairly active.

edit: Whoops, was supposed to be a reply to FlyingPancakes. :)

Great game really 1 of the best games for linux.

Sadly poor manage from devs/mods.

Some users abusing the system never got banned or punished, and seems like they dont want to lisen or talk about what changes can be good.

All they want is more coders, sadly if they dont want to talk and lisen to the playerbase i really dont think coders will go to them.

Maybe if game manage change, you can enjoy playing this game.

I think we listen to the player base sufficiently although things can take a while to implement.

When we say to you 'We need more developer time to do that/Program it yourself and we'll include it' we mean it. We dont have enough developers to implement all suggestions, even good ones, and while suggestions are great, man hours is what gets things realized in-game.

This is a RTS for the RTS lover. The community is pushing the limit with hectic gameplay and mind-bending visuals. It is a great example of agile community development becoming more than the sum of its parts.
