"Z Warrior Chronicles" is an independent project being worked on by me (Xatoku) based off of the popular Dragonball Z franchise by Akira Toriyama.

This project has been going since early April 2011, and has gone through many revisions along the way, but the story elements are now being worked on and progress is booming.

The aim of this project is to emulate the Dragonball Z world in an Action/RPG type scenario,and tell the story of the Z Fighters as best it can. The gameplay is best described as a combination of Legacy of Goku 2 & Dragonball Z Sagas on the GBA & PS2 respectively, along with a ton of Anime inspired gameplay elements as well.

Production is naturally at a slow but steady pace due to the development team being only me, but I've invested all of my free time into this project and have no intention on stopping any time soon.

Remember, I'm a one man army so please don't rush me for release dates & such, it will come out when it comes out.

Journal #21: Hiatus

Production on ZWC is going to be taking a temporary halt while I sort some things out.
The ambition is still there and I'm still watching DBZ as much as possible, but after a recent turn of events, I'm going to let ZWC cool off for a while so I can pursue a new project with a friend of mine. I'm not a big watcher of mods, but I'd imagine it's posts like these that ultimately put an end to projects. I'll try to do my best in not making that happen, but I can't promise anything until I prove otherwise.

A "spark" for why this is happening would be because the game was "released" by someone who will rename nameless. I've talked to them personally and explained my case, to which they nicely removed the link, but it still happened none the less. That, I'm not too bummed out about. It's the fact that a long drawn out feud between a select group of people was still burning strong after the matter being put to rest nearly a year ago. It's starting to become apparent that it won't be a problem that just goes away, and I'm certain some of you know what I'm talking about. It's a ton of drama attached the project which it doesn't need.

It sucks because a friend of mine was dragged into it after just wanting to help, which was totally unnecessary, and that's what really irked be about the whole thing. So now he and I are, as I said, pursuing a new project which will be revealed soon.

The main cause of the problem was that the ZWC SVN was put out there by me at a time, but nobody knew about it apart from myself and the testers. It wasn't a problem because nobody knew about it, so they didn't go searching, they didn't speculate, nothing. As far as the public was concerned, it didn't exist. But when someone came into the IRC and snagged the link, they released it without even asking me if they could (let alone telling me that they were doing it). As of now, the SVN is private so that's all looked after. But the drama is still there, and as long as it is, ZWC won't be. When the project is finished, it will be so with nothing else trying to bring it down.

I know my words are hollow until I release something - that last picture of Chi-Chi was hardly satisfying - but at this point I just don't care about working on ZWC if it has such a close eye on it. I'm gonna wait until Sauron lightens up a bit before I get back into the swing of things, but who knows. Maybe this new project will prove to be even better than what I want ZWC to be. It's still in it's infancy, but I think you guys will dig it. Plus it's a fresh start. No bullshit attached to it's name, and we plan on keeping it that way.

Thanks for sticking with ZWC for so long, if you have. I'll get back to it when the time is right. Who knows, maybe when I get back we'll be able to kill Raditz. I'll drop wind (lol) of the new project when it's ready for release. Until then, later!

Been following this game for a while now =]

Have to say I'm impressed by the Alpha.
Some bugs:
-> Blast can go through mountains and houses (objects).
-> Continuing a blast seems to cause lag after a while.
-> While channeling a blast you can still do a heavy attack, aka kick yourself forward.
-> When you defeat Radditz with a blast (Masenko in my case), it continues during the dialog.
Suggestions:
-> Perhaps a character selection screen.
-> Mouse movement will be nice, IMO it's hard to aim.
-> Full screen.

All I can spot for now, hope this helps, I'm loving this game =]

fullscren=alt+enter

character change= left shift on first swap plate where you start game

i dont get lag when continuing a blast O_O

everything else is legit

Fulscreen works now, but the UI is in the middle of the screen lol.

I meant like a screen pops up when you press shift and you can select your character, cause I'm assuming there will be more playable ones?

Lag might just be my pc, although it's rather updated :P
