After 2 years of playing, can say I am just more and more addicted to this game.
Lots of new game features and new rendering improvements made this game more attractive. Despite slow advancing at higher levels, it's worth of spending so much time playing it.

Stunning game, we (myself and my wife) play as much as we can on this game, we played Ultima Online for 15 years on and off, Wurm Online has now fully taken its place, incredible, so much freedom, so much to do, yes it takes a while to do anything, but that is one of the beauties of it, the feeling of achievement when you complete something. Living, breathing, ever changing world. Yes, it really is !

Wurm Online might look like a game made during the '90s but it will leave your computer bleeding to death for trying to run it at decent settings. Even when you have a computer that _should_ be able to run it (16gbs of RAM and 3GB video RAM, super fast processor and all that jazz) the memory leaks get you after little under 2 hours and the entire RAM is filled up and you start jerking around. I'd be a bit more understanding of this if it hadn't been for this: If you point out any of the flaws in the global server chats asking if it's even being worked on by the developers a large group of players will start screaming about how stupid you are and that it’s just your computer that’s ****** and scolding you for not worshipping that Rofl dev. I've even been told by players (? Question mark because pretty much everyone seems to be staff in this game) to "shut up or you'll scare off the newbies". WTF? I AM A NEWBIE and I want to know if anything is being done about the obvious issues, but apparently that's a sin.
I realized after some time trying to get this **** to work that I should've had a look at the forums first - Take a peek at that bugs threads ratio in comparison to all other threads on the forums and you'll catch my drift. As infuriating as all the bugs were I liked the concept of the game and so I started to read about it to get some idea of its general history and apparently it was in beta for 15 years or something dumb like that. I guess that's when I realized they'll never fix the bugs and that I should just stop playing. It's a damn shame because it's really hard to find good sandbox games but this bugfest just isn't worth my time or my money. I honestly run the Crysis series better on my rig than I run Wurm Online and I know which one I'll keep playing of the two.

This game looks huge and I've heard it's time consuming... Is it any good?

It's a fantastic game, but has a high attrition rate for new joiners. "time consuming" is an apt word - it's certainly slower going than most sandboxes but if it's your kind of game it will consume you for years :)
