We're thrilled to announce that our next biweekly update, "Get Your Mod On!", is here! This is a big one, because it introduces FULL Steam Workshop support, the ability to browse mods through Wrack itself, new sound effects, new modding capabilities, and plenty more! You can see the trailer for it all right here:

  • Mods can now be submitted to Steam Workshop through WrackEd! They can be subscribed to and played through Wrack as well.
  • Workshop submissions (both maps and mods) can now be updated after publishing through WrackEd!
  • Wrack now automatically downloads updated versions of subscribed Workshop items.
  • Added new gib sound effects! Gibs now make sounds as they bounce off of things.
  • Added two new trooper death animations.
  • Updated the display name of numerous objects in the editor.
  • Added the "object shoots" face action activation type, which allows face actions to activated by shooting it.
  • Updated the map format to accomodate the new face action activation type. Older maps will need to be run through mapconvert\MapConvert.exe
  • Added the GetVelocity() AI script command, which returns the object's current velocity.
  • Added new AI script commands for debugging mod development: AddOutputInt(), AddOutputBool(), AddOutputString(), and PrintOutput().
  • Added some cutscenes to the right side of E1L6 to better clarify what the switches do.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the railgunners from gibbing properly.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented leaderboard replays from being watched on leaderboards with multiple entries.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the "enter" key binding from saving properly.
  • Separated the subscribed map/mod menus in Wrack.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented replacement textures in object spawned by spawners to not properly precache.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed you to quicksave during intermission.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented secrets from being re-findable after restarting a map in Time Attack/Score Attack.
  • Knockback from rockets is now affected by the Doomsphere.
  • Damage done to yourself from rockets is now affected by the Doomsphere.
  • Fixed a bug that caused colorized sections of text spanning multiple lines to mistakenly be reset on subsequent lines.

Is it a key for Desura maybe? To redeem the game on Desura first?

Key for "Beta Invite" on Desura - The Desura version I'm assuming is the exact same work-in-progress version on Steam. It works

But as I mentioned in PM I think some people prefer the stability of Valve's client more. Desura also normally does not host DLC if any is ever made nor does it feature Steam's Worshop.

Yeah, nor achievements, not the leaderboards. There's a whole writeup on why the Steam version is the preferred version here:

From that post i get feeling that you so happy about gettin on Steam, so you going to switch on Steam totally and abandon non Steam versions. "Desura not selling DLC" - wrong, btw, no leaderboards and silly achievements - oh right, these things is main reason peoples play games. Cannot say such position makes me want to pay for it then.

Besides, I'd actually like to see other platforms doing well. It's better for everyone if there's more competition for Steam. It's part of the reason I approached Dave about doing a big Desura sale.

You should consider coming on too, imho, since your game is old school anyway. They dont allow beta games in their store, as far as i know, but once it released...

We'll certainly look into that! Thanks! ... and it's not as "old school" as you might think! ;)

No, i didnt meant that you try to recreate old game era, ofc, i meant that your game was inspired by good old games, and that is exactlly what GOG is looking for, like Legend Of Grimrock.
P.S. Oh, i decided to give your game a was on my radar some time already. Wish you good luck.

Nah, we certainly aren't abandoning other versions. I know a lot of people like the Desura version because it's DRM-free, and we totally support that. All we're saying is that there are some extra perks to the Steam version. Certainly they don't appeal to everyone.

When you go to the collection page -> Wrack -> keys, make sure you select "Steam" from the dropdown list (instead of Desura), and it should work.

Thanks for your answer, but I don't have this kind of choice. I'm sending the screenshot by PM, maybe I missed something.

An old-school, cell-shaded game with style and lots of fun.

This is an honest review of the game, it is generic and not worth the time it took to download it. I see no reason or potential in this game. This is a doom clone through and through i see no reason for this kind of game to be released in 2012. This game is in alpha and unless they start from scratch these reason will maintain their significance all the way through the development and release of the game. I was going to give the game 3.5 or 4 out of 10 ( which I believe to be generous for this below…
