Major Meltdown, Minor Setbacks
So recently (I take full blame!), my computer went into meltdown and by meltdown I mean I lost everything on my hard drive. Now, in the ideal situation, this wouldn't matter, it's all backed up online right? Well, no. You try backing up 3TB of data online dammit! Anyway luckily, a good 2TB of that was my Steam games and other useless files that have congregated over the years. On the other hand, I never backed Project ONYX up online nor did I back up the War of The Servers menu I was working on therefore, they have been lost.
So, the War of The Servers menu and integration with ONYX is a big kick in the ass to lose, though I'm trying to recover them, things are looking grim. Another bad thing is that I've lost our good ol' Infinity Logo and such so we have to get back to doing those again.
Above all, we've not lost a whole lot really, more my personal stuff than anything. However, don't worry! This meltdown has set us back a little but thankfully we always back up the actual game online so not all is lost! I'll be very very busy and I'm currently feeling very very sorry for myself.
Jobs
No not the movie, we're looking for people to work with us! Currently, we do not pay as we don't have the resources unfortunately, however there have been lots of talks about taking War of The Servers to Kickstarter (which doesn't seem too bad of an idea). Check out the jobs page to apply!
Thanks for reading!
Have you every thought about Mirroring your Hard Drives?
Maybe the important stuff should be mirrored in their own two hard drives.
Better yet partitions can be mirrored, on one or several hard drive(s) where you keep all the stuff separated by partitions these could be mirrored into an other partition on a separate drive, that way you wont need to mirror the whole drive but just the important partitions to partitions of identical size on the extra drive.
Sounds like a good idea, I'd not thought of that. Thanks dude!
Software raid ftw.
Has this issue affected the timeframe for QA testing at all? I had been told around the middle of September that QA testing would start about a month or so from then, and that an application would be sent when the play testing area became available.
Unfortunately, this has effected QA testing times, apologies for this.
Not a problem. I understand these kinds of things happen. I'm ready whenever you need me.
Love me some external drives :/
All these mods/games drowned into computer failure...
