Since 1994 the world of Warcraft has captured the souls of gamers. 10 years later, gamers no longer command from afar, but enter the World of Warcraft themselves to carve out a virtual life in Azeroth of their own. Quests, exploration and riches await as gamers venture through the world on foot, on the back of a gryphon or with a group of friends. World of Warcraft takes place within the Warcraft universe, in the wake of Warcraft III and it's expansion. Choosing your faction plays a major part in the game, as you will be at war with no less than half of the races that inhabit the game.

Genesis Job Editor

I started some month ago an online editor project to make it easyer to ahndle the work process and also give technical not much skilled but creative people the possibility to create quests and other serverside game content.

Maruum serverside content editor

WoW is technical a very complex system. You have gameObjects, items, spells, creatures or quests and all this pices have so many options you can define. In the moment the quest editor as main part of the system is in development.

It is fully working and I add now features to avoid fully the need of searching for IDs in other DBC or sql tables and insert them by hand.

WoW client and also trinity, the server system we use to creat our project, use DBC files. They hold different game data and define together with the serverside mySql database the full functinalaty of the game world. In the past modders changed the sql and dbc stuff in different tools seperated. The problem with this is that both data sources are related to each other. You you often had to open a DBC file localy to find out an ID you had to add to the mySql tables.

Genesis DBC manager

To avoid this and make it possible to creat an easy to use editor i have written en importer and ecporter modul to get all the DBC stuff into the mySql database and if something has changed again back into the DBCs.

The system also still contans a job and server account managment section where we can give people acces to the server and manag the working tasks with a jobtraker. There you can see what the progress of each job is and who is working on what part of the project.

Genesis creature list

This jobtracker allows the workers to set what status the job has. Like he is working on it or it is ready for testing.

Also they can set a percent value how far they are.

There is much more possible to implement and we will see where this sideproject will lead to.

It's probably because World of Warcraft isn't that hot with the modding community, which is understandable. No MMORPG is really made for modders.

I thought it was alright, but I can never get an MMORPG to hold my attention.

How can this be at a rating of 7.5, lol, so many noobies who couldn't pay for it or that got bored at level 5 need to stop rating! This is a great RPG, awsome graphics that could do a little more tweaking (as we all know), great roleplay, many quests, and pretty much everything plus more you could find in any other MMORPG, even the price.... Yes, its a great game, Blizzard did a great job, but they have, what, a few million if you count everyone in the world playing, and they charge around $13-15/month! Great game, but horrible price! Then again, it's not so bad, think of the lag if all the poor kids played too ;) But also, for thier price, don't you think they would've bought more tech support? Thier tech support is worse than any other i've seen! Well, that's all for now!

MMORP is a world inside itself. World of Warcraft (WoW) is very very dynamic, has personal character, game objectives, ever changing environment, and has its' own economy. It also has a very large multi-player interaction, PvP, PvE, RPG; ever imagined 50 people on their computers grouped together to kill one monster?

This "game" is a complete opposition to the REAL LIFE so my 1/10 rating remains Krell-solid.
