This game is about the player being dropped off into the wild uninhabited areas of the world away from man and then living to tell about it. You'll use strategy and will power to survive on whatever you brought with you be it a swiss army knife and rations or a hatchet and matches. With no health indicator your struggle is set by hunger/thirst/stamina meter that when fully depleted will signal exhaustion and with no food or water you'll have to find your own. Set in different locales all over the world we will explore caves, jungles, abandoned cities and glaciers. Welcome to the Wilderness.

Man vs Wild game isn't really competition, with only several wilderness survival games that I know about (this, Man vs Wild and Stranded 1 and 2) I dont really call it competition. Make a great game, and people will play no matter what competition you have.

I read the article and it looks really good and really close to what we're trying to achieve. However that case may be I still beleive we are developing a different game. Each of 3 characters has different needs and skills and tasks to be completed in the levels and they all start at different places. It would be like playing 3 different games at some points where one person has a swiss army knife and a camera while another crafted a bow and hunts game. I don't doubt that crave will doa bad job either they make good games and if I had a system I'd prolly play it, get ****** off and quit cause I dun like being outside but that's besides the point!

Unity is free so if you want to DL and play around with it, if not for us but for your own personal interest go ahead. If you want to help send me a PM and we can discuss what we would need help with.

Yea unity is pretty easy once you get the hang of it, We are also using Terragen for terrain sculpting in some cases. That is free as well and you have less limitations with terragen 1 than 2.

I have 2 questions; 1.) will this be like Wurm, except singleplayer?
2.) Is this like, dropped in the middle of nowhere, without ANY civilizations, anywhere?

if the answers to 1 and 2 are yes, I am getting this game, whether in orthodox methods or not... depending on if it's free or not... tight budget and all...

Like Wurm, no. For civilization, No. you're alone. And as for unorthodox methods uhm we discussed this and the game will be free until further notice(prolly no further notice I just feel like mentioning it for some reason) so it's not stealing if its free?

Running a sim of life or death is the ultimate test of survival instinct and may be added into the game as a difficulty level or unloackable scenario. I haven't thought about that too much but I will put it into heavy consideration.

Really enjoy the concept of this game, would prefer a non-linear version e.g random gen areas with a 'theme' that you survive in, the realism idea is amazing. I'll keep a close eye on this game, I have since I first saw it a while ago but only just made an account.

I was kinda hoping for that 2 but if you can make your own levels (heightmaps) then thats just as good...I think...

we are thinking of making the game moddable because you can make heightmaps using various diff programs and if you have unity free you can make your own levels. We're not however going for randomly generated maps due to the regions we are attempting to put you in are based off real maps for the most part. Secondly the areas will be connected and strange to have random maps connected when the area is explorable by several characters but different places. Being that character 1 can start in a valley walking around and character 2 starts ina swamp. character 2 can get to that same valley however they're going to have a long journey.
