White Epsilon is a Cold War era RTS mod for Half-Life 2. White Epsilon differs from all other RTS games in many ways. It brings a completely new gameplay mechanic to the RTS genre, with players being able to interact with factions outside the map they are playing. For example, players may want to trade with countries, boosting their status as an ally, and perhaps getting units or technology from that country. Not only that, but it also changes to the way units are built and controlled, giving for more strategy and more action.
The combat in White Epsilon takes place in Berlin, but players are by no means restricted to that city, country or even planet. It is possible to launch missions to space, constructing valuable structures like Spy Satellites and Laser Missile Defense protocols. Players can launch inter-continental ballistic missiles at other countries, crippling economies, of which other players may be reliant. White Epsilon provide strategy at a depth never seen before in realtime, where every move has a consequence, and action a reaction.

you cant have thsi on this page any more as a standalone, it links to a page using the hl2 engine there fore it is not a standalone game and must be removed! Topsites.moddb.com
Because it is a standalone game? Yeah, we made the move to the KjAPI engine. Don't worry BK. Updates are on way. I have finished my exams and I have a wehole lot more time to dedicate to artistic thingmes.
Why is this under standalone games now?

White Epsilon is back on track, we will release the first ingame screenshots along with the new website layouts and some mammoth news post to keep all of you happy.
We are probably going to be going with the powerful KjAPI, which has great support and is OpenGL, so all the Linux and Mac noobs out there (I dual boot) will be able to play it.

Yeah, we did think long and hard (no, you sick puppies), but some opportunities that were too good to miss came up (no!) and we think that the whole project will benefit from the various choice of engines we have.
There will be a mammoth of an announcement soon where all will be revealed.
congrats on the choice to moving to standalone instead of source! I love source though, but it'll be better this way, because people with HL2 will be able to play
I was just logging on for that announcement, though it is not all finalized.
The standalone engine in question is the Reality Engine, and I'm sure most of you will be like, "WTF? Epic bought out Reality!!" Well, yes Epic DID buy out Reality, but the makers of 1944: D-Day have got permission from Artificial Studios to release some free licences.
We are in discussion. Nothing is finalized, and if we don't get it, we will probably move to TSE or something like that.
We REALLY need more artists!
