A futuristic wild west, Warm Gun combines the favorite motifs of the classic western genre with the scraps of an obliterated technocracy. World War III has been fought to the tipping point and ecologists long unheeded cries have been silenced by the grim truth of their predictions. To the last drop of oil have the worlds resources been depleted, and only sporadic traces of modern structure can be sifted in the dust. Time ticks forward but humans must retrace their advancement back, through a history that has already been lived and to the Wild West for the second time around. We have trampled ahead to the past in muddy boots, to the United States of late 19th century. Greeted by the ghost of the wide-open country, the exhausted land is barren too, of all the old dreams we fulfilled beyond our means. This spun western lets you create your own one-of-a-kind characters and unique gangs; choose from weapons new and strange and a wider range.

In this week's showcase, we are revealing our newest level called 'Dam It!' and taking a brief peek into the new lighting in 'Dear Lord'...

Posted by EmotionalRobot on Jan 27th, 2011

One of our talented Level Designers Eric Loat decided to create a snowy enviornment for our newest level. 'Dam It' showcases a few features such as a vertical level design, a dynamic dam, sniper towers and mounted machine guns. Trap's are to your left and right, so you should watch where you take your steps.

As you can tell, 'Dam It' is still a Work-In-Progress. This does not yet represent the quality of the final product and, as always, our showcases are showing the direction we are moving in and we hope that you enjoy it.

  • Vertical Level Design
  • Attack & Defend style Gameplay
  • Sniper Towers & Positions
  • Mounted Machine Guns
  • Dynamic Dam Event
  • Cage Trap

A Cold Winter Landscape

The landscape is riddled with structures and bridges to encourage close combat.

Don't get caught in the Cage!

High Ground!

Hold your ground with one of the Mounted Machine-Guns!

One of many sniper spots.

Take the Low Road and you might get to the other side.

Visual of the Week

Our visual of the week is an update to the lighting in 'Dear Lord', the Preachers level. You should check the before and after shots on our images tab and see out how far it's come in just a couple weeks!

You should add some more shadows in the Dam it map and change a bit of the color of the snow, but it's damn amazing!

You don't need to have UT3 installed to play Warm Gun... It's going to be a stand alone game :)
