It looks a little... I don't know, vibrant? too lively?
For a war game, I'd recommend you use more "drabby" colors in an almost darker color scheme, dead grass and such. It would fit the theme a lot better.
I can understand if you want to keep it accurate to the area, I don't know what the real area looks like or what it looked like back then.
I agree. try to make it closer to a "sepia" tone.
altough, this may be a pre-post-processing.
Thank you for your feedback guys. :)
Antietam was a rather colourful battle in terms of vegetation. It took place just around the time when the fall colours begin to show (one week before to be precise). While the same thought crossed my mind in terms of colours, I decided to stick with some life and a bit of vibrant colours. The war was a terrible one, but the countryside of where it was fought was mostly a lovely one.
I do however agree that a bit more brown is needed.

That makes sense, I didn't even stop to think about that.
Not sure how this would be done (I'm not a coder, and I've never worked with CryEngine 3) But it would be awesome if after a battle here, everything started to turn fall colors (grass would turn a little more dead, plenty of blood stains on the ground) and depending on how you plan for the game to progress (I doubt it's open-world, but anyway) any time you came back here it would stay that way.
Since we'll be an online game only, that would get quite hard to pull off. We do however have some plans with the famous "Miller's Cornfield" in antietam. During the battle the entire field practically got decimated. Fighting Joe ****** later described the scene as "... every stalk of corn in the northern and greater part of the field was cut as closely as could have been done with a knife, and the slain lay in rows precisely as they had stood in their ranks a few moments before."
Be assured - you'll get to kill some corn. :)
