Hey guys, this week brings some inspirational music showcasing our composer's new skills, although not designed for the OST for Wake Up Call explicitly. Also, I bring news of our main character and his status.

The Concept Track:
This track was made from an inspiration of our composer, and as such he wasn't making it explicitly for the Wake Up Call OST, but more for personal realization. But it is still pretty damn good, and I would argue better than the other two tracks he has made so far for us. Give it a listen and please give us your feedback.

The Main Character:
Kyle, Wake Up Call's main character, has been undergoing his modelling and texturing process for several weeks now, and he is almost finished there. After he is done there, it will be off to the animation department (manned by a single animator) for animation for game use in the target demo and beyond. He looks good and I cannot wait to show him off to you all out there.

For Next Week:
If you didn't read it in yet, expect an in-game render of Kyle next week, the first big milestone in Wake Up Call's production. We have several other good content pieces in store for later as well, such as weapons, props, concept art (of course), and perhaps some more good stuff. But for now, enjoy the music as we prepare next week's content and get closer to the target demo release.

Thanks for reading, and have a happy weekend!

The song's actual name is "Battle Within The Heart" xP

Anyways, since we're playing things smart with a smaller, more lean team, I have A LOT of free time on my hands. But instead of twiddling my thumbs while waiting for levels and scenes to be built up, I'm developing new techniques to improve the quality of the final game's soundtrack.

Let's hope I can satisfy on the audio front.

Man, Collin (right?) Awesome job. Sounded really professional, nearly Halo-esque. I bet I'd be pretty jelly of your FL Studio set up.
Keep up the awesome work.

FL Studio is one of the lowest-tier DAW's you can grab, though it's capable of so much x)

I was talking more about your VST plugins, I own FLS 10 already, absolutely love it. Truthfully, some people say it's for n00bz and not a good sequencer, but I think it's just as good if not better than Abelton, and well worth over the 200$ it costs.
I want LA Scoring strings with a passion, but it costs 5 times more than the software I'd be hosting it on lol.

Ah, that makes sense ^^

Yeah, FLS has a nice interface, it's intuitive, and it has some really good processing abilities. My only complaint is that it tends to buckle under the weight of hardcore libraries/plugins. LASS really hits hard in this regard, as well as piano VST's.

Just make sure you get a good rig, and the necessary software (such as Kontakt)before you grab professional libraries.

With LASS, it has excellent acoustic quality and the Legato/Portamento/Glissando patches are really awesome. Though I usually find that it's not the best tool for creating those very large-sounding scores. Thankfully, I have Symphobia for that.
I usually use LA Scoring Strings for the melodic lines, and Symphobia for the expansive underscores.

However, there's also the East West Quantum Leap libraries. (You can find them at soundsonline.com) The EWQL libraries have stellar samples, but I, like many others, grew tired of the buggy samplers they ran on and switched out.
But if you're in a financial pinch, you can get the - Soundsonline.com - (I recommend swapping out Goliath for Silk, and upgrading the orchestra to platinum). It's still pricey, but for what you get, it's a spectacular deal.
Though their sampling engine may still be really buggy, and running these things requires a good CPU. But like any big purchase, you should do some good research before buying.

Sorry about that Collin, didn't realize I had the name wrong, well it is close enough I guess.

Yeah, the name is very close. But that one word totally changes the song's meaning xD Doesn't really matter here though, since it's just to showcase my progress.

I'm loving the percussion and strings. Really great sounding arrangement.
