Voxelaria is a sandbox adventure survival game. You are stranded on a remote island and have to survive! In Voxelaria the objective is to make use of the randomly generated island to stay alive and build up a base. Cut down trees, collect wood, items and food, hunt animals, build a mine, and discover the mysteries of the island. Maybe you'll even be able to make it off the island alive? The game is in active development and a free alpha version is already available to download and play. I'll be releasing updates as frequently as possible so keep checking back to follow my progress!

Latest News: Updating the rendering engine

After implementing the trees and a few new types of vegetation, I’ve noticed that the frame rate is starting to suffer. This is mainly because it’s trying to draw so many polygons (need to implement some kind of terrain LOD system), but also because my layout at the very core of my rendering code isn’t very tidy. When I started the project, the rendering engine was very specifically geared towards rendering terrain. Then when it came to adding water, entities and vegetation rendering I very lazily hacked in a render list to handle them.
Now I’m at the point where I really need to spend some time thinking about how to make nice clean rendering code, and implementing it. I’ll probably release another alpha version once I get these changes in place, but there won’t be many big visible things different from the current version when that release comes around.
So I just wanted to keep everybody informed on what I’m up to. I’ll post some screenshots on my Indie/ModDB and Facebook pages when I have anything good to show!

the game doesn't launch. i double click the .exe, and nothing happens. i tried as admin, won't work. i'm on 7 x64

ah the only game close to this game is garys mod which is deffinitly good garrys mod was the best :D such a fun customizable game
... for me, the inventory reminds me of minecraft :P
Looks pretty good so far! I love the inventory screen it reminds me of a very good action-rpg, not that its a bad thing, it just brings up images of Skyrim.
