The latest updated to Vox includes many new features and bug fixes that make it more playable for all players. The previous crash bug and graphical glitches have been fixed and the game now runs a lot smoother.
There is a new landscape generation algorithm that will produce much nicer landscapes when you create a world. This includes vast mountains, valleys and better grassy areas with tress, flowers and grass.
The improved landscape algorithm also includes cave generation.
The new patch also includes several new monsters that are both deadly and fun to fight against. Watch out for the new slime varieties and also the mimics that are cunning and sneaky, hiding away as ordinary treasure chests. There are also ghosts that come out at night time that like to spook and scare you...
Crafting has also been improved and there are now many more ore varieties scattered throughout the world. Copper, Iron, Silver and Gold are all just waiting to be found and refined.
There are also many new items to be found in the world and treasure chests will contain random loot. What will you find on your adventures?
There is also a lot of other cool stuff that has also been included in the new update, but I don't want to give you a running commentary of everything, else that will spoil some of the surprises... You should play the latest version and see what you can find for yourself.
Here are the full patch notes:
Stay tuned for more Vox updates and be sure to stop by the forums to post your suggestions, and any cool screenshots that you have taken or fun items you have made!

I have played the dev builds and see improvement in each release. This game holds the kind of potential to be the kind of game I've always wanted to play, and already has many features of such a game with its large focus on user-created content. I highly recommend trying the pre-alpha or, if you're more interested in waiting for the game to be more "fleshed out" I recommend following its development, rating it up on Greenlight, and following the developer's Youtube channel.

Here are my thoughts so far:
There seems to be some bugs with the character creation / slots. I somehow overwrote the first warrior with my own character, even though I created a brand new character. Also, sometimes the character selected will differ from the character you selected previously. For example, I edited my character, but when I entered the game with him, he reverted to the previous model. There was something similar happening with the character's individual parts (i.e. the character choice screen displayed my character correctly, but on going to edit his individual parts, they reverted to previous pre-made character part choices).
Also, I edited an item (the sword) and saved it under a name, but I can't reload it under that name, even though I saved it in the same world that I was playing at the time (not sure if that matters).
The check boxes could be more obvious than just 'red for on, blue for off'.
I think the SSAO checkbox under the options menu might be broken (doesn't seem to enable or disable SSAO). The world seems to be 'dark' with SSAO, I'd suppose, whether you enable it or not.
What's the point of the Occlusion option on the Options menu?
I like the targeting mode. Feels a lot like Zelda, though it makes shooting arrows a breeze (maybe too easy)?
As a side-note, where are the item / save / etc. files stored?
The game overall isn't bad so far, and could be cool in the future, though. Keep up development!
Hey there SolarLune.
Thanks for the feedback and for raising some great points. I am glad you realized that this is still early and alpha stage and has lots and lots of room for improvements.
One thing that you mentioned that I am VERY aware of is that at the moment a lot of things are unclear to a new player and there are lots of instances where it is hard to intuatively know what is happening with the custom creation. This is something which I am putting a lot of time into and in future updates it should be really clear for things such as what objects you are editing, how the saving of objects works and also importing new models to replace your weapons/items.
Thanks for your feedback on the Zelda targeting, It does make some monsters quite easy to kill, but at the same time it makes the combat more fun in general. Look out for the difficulty of the game to be changing soon as new AI behaviours, combat types and different enemy attacks are added.
Cheers! :D
Hmm... looks interesting! I'll keep an eye out for this game, and watch development. Hope it goes well!
Every Time I Start The Game , A White Screen Pops Up , I left it for a while and nothing still white....
Try running your screen at different resolutions. Without seeing code of the game, I cant really give much more help than that.
Can zzzyou Please Help Me Out?
After posting the above comment, I had my friend also try running a trial. We both Started a new character, loaded into Voxtopia, collected some new items/armors. We then clicked ESC and clicked Quit. We then even loaded BACK UP our characters on the same world, and all of our items/experience was gone. According to some other people, this is happening to others after the update. I AM using the .30 Update if that helps. Thanks in advance. -Nick
Hi, thank you so much for your help with this matter. I have located the bug and have created a new version to specifically fix this problem. I will upload it to Desura for them to authorize the patch, Sorry again for this problem.
Thanks again for sorting this out. Also, do you have a rough estimation as to when the Multiplayer will be added? I have already purchased several copies. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for doing some more research and reporting this to me. I am looking into this as a matter of priority now. Cheers for your help :)
