Verdun is the first multiplayer FPS set in a realistic First World War setting. The merciless trench warfare offers a unique battlefield experience, immersing you and your squad into intense battles of attack and defense.
The game takes place on the western front between 1914 and 1918, in one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history. The developers were inspired by the infamous Battle of Verdun France in 1916. The game includes many historically accurate features such as realistic WW1 weaponry, authentic uniforms and maps based on the real battlefields of France and Belgium.
The Frontlines game mode is unique in its tactical complexity. The realistic trenches are challenging to fight in and require tactical cunning to capture and defend. The Entente and Central Powers strive to gain control of frontline sectors. One battle you’re rushing the enemy trenches during an offensive battle in order to gain ground. In another battle you might be defending your recently conquered ground against an enemy counter-attack.
Players can choose to be part of one of the many squad-types in the game, each of whom have their own distinct tactical role. By working together with your friends, you can earn experience that improves the power and versatility of your squad. As you gain more experience fighting and get promoted in rank, you also earn Career Points which you can use to unlock specializations, weapons and equipment. The Rifle Deathmatch is a free-for-all game mode, where all players are pitted against each other in a thrilling contest of skill using only bolt-action rifles.

Verdun key features include:

  • Realistic World War 1 gameplay: Authentic weaponry with realistic bullet physics, skill based weapon handling, poisonous gas with a claustrophobic gas mask experience and artillery barrages
  • Tactical squad-based FPS: Unique squad leveling system, distinct squad types and roles, voice chat
  • True trench warfare: Real-time dynamic frontline with momentum-based attack and counter-attack gameplay
  • Authentic World War 1 setting: Typical WW1 music and style, historical battlefields set on the Western Front
  • Challenging game modes: Team-based Frontline and skill-based Rifle Deathmatch

I believe there were Belgian soldiers who also fought wearing helmets like the French and same kind of uniform but the difference was that they were dressed in a brown uniforms. It wasn't just Belgian soldiers wearing top hats.

This is their early war uniform indeed. The late and mid-war uniforms are also available as the squad tiers up. Not sure if those screenshots are teased yet somewhere, but they will at some point for sure. Stay tuned

I just love the work you guys put into in every model, scenery, texture of things. The officer wearing the helmet without a cover looks better though, because the lion crest on top really just shows the beauty of it. But the covers on helmets ehh, it knocks down the potential beauty of the nice looking helmet, I mean it's not like if people will play on rainy maps all the time. Other than that I voted for this as mod of the year you guys deserve it

Thanks for your vote.
I agree that uncovered helmets are nicer. The canvas cover was a common attribute for the soldiers however and it makes it stand out visually from the french chasseur and poilu squads which already sport the uncovered adrian.

I noticed the Canadians were added which was cool so I was wondering if you guys have any ideas about adding Australians.

The Australians are currently not on our roadmap for the western front. While we have not fleshed out the concepts for the other theaters, in my opinion they are better served with being featured in a gallipoli scenario. As a squad on the western front it is pretty hard giving them unique weapons as we already have the Canadians and British.

Okay, thanks. Does this mean that you will be doing a Gallipoli scenario or DLC? Because that would be really cool. This is SwaggyBanana by the way I just replied without loging in

In the little box where it says "Plataforms" it says PS4. Is it possible that you are realizing the game to PS4 ?

I feel that after two years of playing this game both on browser and on Steam that I'm qualified to write a semi-intelligent review on this game. Verdun. A truly one-of-a-kind experience that blends the familiarity of standard FPS games, and the uniqueness of the World War One era. This is the only game that you will find for this time period and genre of game, and for there to be only one choice, Verdun fills the niche perfectly. The developers are active on the forums and after every major patch I can see implementations of things that were mentioned in the forums. If you are interested in Verdun's multiplay game details you may visit follow link: Elitesgaming.com Next, i could say that the gameplay is very immersive. Although I can only play on low graphics, the immersion in the game while running up to take a trench is mind-boggling. This game does what no other company has tried to do and has pushed the boundaries of what, by many, was thought to be an impossible idea.

Verdun is one of those games that comes along only once in a lifetime, and I've had an immeasurable amount of fun with it. It takes the harsh scenario of trench warfare and almost flawlessly merges it into squad based large battles. The game isn't very far off from how it would work in real life either. One side launches an offensive to take the trench, and if successful, would hold that line for the inevitable counterattack. That system plus close to realistic combat makes for a very fun multiplayer…
