Verdun is a squad-based multiplayer FPS set in First World War(WW1) . The game is inspired by the infamous battle of Verdun in 1916.

The game includes historically accurate features such as true WW1 weaponry, historical maps based on sectors of the Western Front and authentic uniforms and equipment. The game immerses you audiovisually into one of the bloodiest conflicts fought in Europe.

The merciless trench warfare offers a unique battlefield for tactical squad play in the realistic Frontlines game mode, and raw gameplay in the rifle-deathmatch.

The Frontlines game mode is unique in its tactical complexity, where you are levelling different types of squads, each with your own tactics and roles. The realistic trenches are an extra challenge in the fight, where teamwork and tactical cunning are essential for success. Drive your enemies from their trenches and dominate the Western Front!

Another great update just went live. Not only are we exterminating bugs and polishing up the game (incl. more GUI updates), we are also adding new features to give you a more immersive and balanced game and offer more gameplay opportunities. Some noteworthy ones are;

Spawn points
When spawning on a squadmate you will copy his/her stance. Some predefined spawnpoints now start crouched or prone.

Autobalance
An overpowered team will receive a chat mesasge and penalty. Which includes a 10% score reduction for every player too many and a +1 second spawntime for every player too many starting at 3 players difference.

Private match improvements
We added more customization options for the private matches such as a timeleft command and friendly fire setting.

Oh yes we are working, we're still aiming for that november beta.

The coding dept. has done work on shadows and the masterserver for the ingame serverbrowser which is operating as we speak. Artisticly we are making progress as some weapons are recieving a texture and, with the playermodels nearly completed the animations workflow is commencing. I think there will be some newsposts this month to come.

Ah lads you know that the dive to prone and the leaning like shown in RO:OST aren't realistic? So this is something for the Arcade, you need to change the anims then it would be ok.
