Dinosaurs live in our collective imagination as the end of things - the crumbling bone, the violently deceased. We imagine flesh ripped from scales and meteors scarring the earth. Through dinosaurs we imagine our own extinction - grey, dusty, lifeless.
If you were to look to the sky a year before the meteor came hurtling from the sky, what would you see?
If you were to peer through the foliage, would you notice the teeming life in the valley beyond?
Venture Dinosauria is about the chaos and color of life on Earth in the first days of flowers, in the last days of lizards.

Great artwork Andy!
awesome!
Umm interesting, although I don't really know what it's about. More info would be nice!
Dinosauria is an RTS and a Sim - you have to build a huge and balanced ecosystem of dinosaurs to support your movement toward world domination.
The sim is both simple and complex - you build territories for your dinosaurs, affect their moods, breed different genetic characteristics, build vegetation and weather systems, and more.
You can also experiment with customizing your dinosaurs using the theories being debated today - how powerful of a hunter was T. Rex, did Stegosaurus use his plates for defense or heat dispersion.
And you can't make a game about dinosaurs without having global disasters: meteor showers, volcanoes, and disease plague your progress through the game.
Hope this helps!
This sounds like the coolest thing ever. o_O
that's a bit more interesting, but the global disasters part kind of turned me off, It my get frustrating, so maybe have it like sim city where you can disable/enable disasters and set difficulty.
I agree about that stuff being frustrating in Sim City. It's never fun to have your hard work torn down.
Since you've got enemy dinosaurs to contend with, somtimes that player will be able to use the disasters to attack them. We also are going to have some "survival" levels that have you trying to survive or progress during a disaster. We'll make sure it's not frustrating like the obnoxious tornadoes and fires in Sim City.
That said, I think this is going to be one of the games in which I make a death trap.
