This game has so much potential and looks great so far. 90+ planes and still in alpha! I don't know any AC game that had that many planes. Graphics still need some work but I'm certain you guys will get there eventually. One issue I had was that it was almost too realistic though. Although in reality it doesn't take 10 missiles to shoot a plane down,in Vector Thrust, I go down in about 3 making for some very quick mission fails. Giving your plane a little more durability will also allow for a little more in terms of epic fights between 50+ planes XD. Besides that, this game has it all, including mod support, I mean, what more could I ask for :P. Fantastic job so far though, keep up the great work, this game will definently be amazing.
It's a difficult task; giving a fair review and rating to a game that's still in alpha. Do I rate the game based on what is there, knowing that it's missing content and will have bugs? Or do I rate it based on the potential that the game has, even though there's no guarantee that it will live up to that potential?
Vector Thrust is a fun flying game (not a simulator) with a very cool art style not typically seen in games of this type. But as it is right now, it's fairly lacking in content. And while the game will probably be outstanding when it's complete, it's not much more than a fun time waster right now. I'm much more excited for what this game will be (might be, hopefully) than what it is right now. That being said, if you are interested in games of this type, you should buy it. Why? Because it's cheap and because every purchase makes it more likely that we will one day see this game reach its full potential.
As for a rating, I'm giving it a 7. That's somewhere between "this game is great!" and "that's all there is?".
If you're not a hyper-realistic/graphicsfag elitist, anti-semiJapanese style(read: classic Ace Combat) or such and wanted for a totally innovative, new direction, but not-so-realistic yet easy-to-pick air combat game, this is for you.
Sorry if this *could* offend someone else.
