(After some deciding, I found this to be a good board) Hello, So, I came to your guys' help, but first; Without further ado (or where I'm coming from), the only criteria I wish for are: PROP PLANE Just an FYI: I will post images when I feel a big accomplishment has.. well... accomplished. But only then! |

Let's see, how about a *target practice* for the start? Like....UAVs? Especially Predator/Reaper. Or IL-2 Strumovik plz. Edited by: Nergal01 -- anon wrote: 'anon' wrote: Now I shall use this 'Vector Thrust Threshold' to measure how awful your product is |

Yup. Consider that as a *not-so-humble* start. -- anon wrote: 'anon' wrote: Now I shall use this 'Vector Thrust Threshold' to measure how awful your product is |

Thanks, then! This and some Blendercookie should get up on a start to modelling! (And it's encouraging me to set a record - the first Prop Plane avaible to public drool (and uploaded to the same public) in VT) Edited by: szboudreau01 |

For the next 'real' thing, I'd suggest the P-51 since it has quite simplistic yet elegant design. -- anon wrote: 'anon' wrote: Now I shall use this 'Vector Thrust Threshold' to measure how awful your product is |

Since we know the Tucano is being mulled for the game, the one the springs to mind is the FMA IA 58 Pucara. Upload.wikimedia.org |

Oh god, these three suggestions are equally as awesome, it's so hard to choose Edited by: szboudreau01 |

For prop planes to look good you need prop blur |
||
Jan 26 2014 Anchor | ||
To be honest, I don't think blurry props will be that hard. Flat circle/cylinders with blurry prop texture looks okay and, again, shouldn't be very hard. Now that I think of it, I think it'll be the sounds that are gonna be ruthlessely difficult. I do have a few WWII games, though, so using those as placeholders should work. And I say Sounds in a general sense: default gun firing sounds won't feel correct with WWII aircraft, for example. Edited by: szboudreau01 |

Nah, you can start with more generic gun sound first. Like, YSFlight's default gun firing sound. -- anon wrote: 'anon' wrote: Now I shall use this 'Vector Thrust Threshold' to measure how awful your product is |

Well, I mean, YS' guns do not sound that far off, though I can't use it's prop sounds, they're abit crap Edited by: szboudreau01 |

That's pretty much what I meant, except it probably still needs to be coded in. |

Autodesk posted this series on their youtube channel recently. Might be useful. |

Almost forgot about this. Thanks for the reminder, guys. I am still abit indecisive of what I should start with.. BF-109, P-51, P-39, and many more craft are actually fairly simple, and even so is the A-6M5. Hey, why not start with a double feature: F4F vs. A-6! A good start, I'd say. |

If we're going to have prop planes they should be able to do prop chops and cut telephone lines like the Israeli mustangs did during the suez crisis. |

I can only think of the A-1 Skyraider. |
