List things to improve the map/mission/campaign editor here

-F1 button brings up a simple help menu
-selection box/shift+ctrl for multiple unit selection
-copy/clone function (holding alt while moving object?)
-set camera movement speed by holding shift or ctrl
-creating a template "battle group" (division, company, batallion, squadron, fleet, you name it) consists of several units at a time
-camera navigation via map
-tooltip help
-preview map function (free movement camera without menus, especially for screenshot purpose)
-test map function ("test" the map directly without need accessing the battle scenario menu first)

also would be nice to have a grid you can snap objects to and premade aircraft formations (so you can arrange some B-52s in a combat box and then paste it all over the map)

Once take-off/landing has been implemented: having an to setup units deployed from airfield/CV/transports/LCAC and so on (including destroyers, if they have helos)

I also want to add the ability to load and save missions directly to the challenge mode.

But I think the “test mission” will be the most useful, the current process isn’t that complicated but I think it will be a lot more comfortable to be able to test a map with just one click

But would that considered as "cheating" that every single challenge can be made a lot easier?

Probably as a consequence, but I see the main intent being to allow the possibility of making add-on aircraft unlockable. In its current state I think the missions are saved as scenarios only?

Color filters that are independent from ambient lighting (so you could add a sepia filter for flashbacks or give everything a barely noticeable green tint like a certain wachowski bros movie.

honk honk. one more reason.

Right now I’m adding the ability to test missions directly in the editor.
I think it will be the most helpful improvement to add the moment.

You can already play any challenge (with any aircraft) by dropping the mission in the battle scenario folder.

They can be saved in campaigns, but this feature is mostly to help me, I’m always moving files from the battle scenario to challenge, sometimes I move the wrong file and then I upload a broken challenge. But this will also be useful in the future to allow players to make their own challenges.

I’m also interested in allowing the missions to be saved in an “editor” folder, this is to avoid the battle scenario mode be cluttered with temporary files.

That is already possible, but you have to edit the existing compositors (the shaders the affect the whole screen, like bloom)

Something to make placing stuff and/or making a town/city/base less painful: Save preset option.

Similar to my previous "save squadron/division/etc" suggestion, It will save the selected group of object as an object thus allow you to load them easily. Imagine you can save/load a city block in no time with that.
