Personally, I'd like to make anything outside creating/moving your army/units and battles as streamlined/simple as possible, here's a bunch of options I'm thinking of:
-Supply lines still exists and can be expanded via conquering territories. Units that are fighting with their supply lines cut are totally worthless, (except epic-sized units?). For planes, this may affect amount of available ammunitions for each type of payload and 'fuel' (time limit for the battle)
-Technologies - they can be either researched either individually or jointly together with your closest allies; let's just say some exclusive techonlogies only can be unlocked via joint research (IRL-wise, it's something like MBT-70/Keiler or Eurofighter Typhoon). They can be bought from allied nation, and they can be stolen from enemy nation as well via spies/hacking (i.e unlocking J-31 by stealing F-35 blueprint). So does units can be *bought* from allied/neutral nation as per real life rule.
-Mercenaries/PMC - optional option that can be disabled or not, they're AI-controlled independently faction you can buy hire to do your dirty jobs (border/VIP protection, offensive campaign, sabotage/assasination, espionage). The AI should able to make use of this feature as well. The more the world 'pay' them, the more powerful they will become until the point they're even more powerful than the most powerful nation standing in the world. Ha.
-Battles - even if this game is obviously more focused on aircrafts, ground/naval forces should play extremely vital role in battles. Normal battles should be typical territorial conquest style not unlike most tactical FPS/RTT out there; capturing designated areas on map and or simply blowing up everything you see until the enemy has no more reserve unit left. Since non-aircraft unit/RTS control hasn't been implemented yet, let's say it's either always spectator only or auto-resolve if there's no playable aircraft involved during battle.

Well, Nergal - you're really doing great in taking this game to the next level, combining elements of other grand strategy games in addition to AC6's ground support system and VT's gameplay. This might give Raiders Sphere a run for its money if we were to introduce this game to Japan.

Yes, mostly stuff like that, especially HoI (since that's the only I played, heh heh).

Nah, could've been more Koei strategy-ish however (PTO/WW2 series on SNES especially the naval management part or RoTK series minus the 'political' part).

Well at least you don't have to micromanage your battles like in those Koei strategy games as much.

For the battles, I'd like to have Pacific Storm-style traditional RTS control, but since there's no such thing yet so you'll only control/switch between any planes on map, like Battlestations series.
