I remember reading a preview about this game that mentioned something about "dynamic backgrounds" and it got me thinking. If buildings had two sets of textures (lights on and lights off) it would allow for a day/night cycle! As the sun went down the buildings would switch to night textures (with glow maps) one by one and if you were to bomb a power plant the whole city would go dark.
